wildblue 7 #1 August 30, 2006 Stupid GM.... Ok, so a few times a week my car thinks it's stolen and I have to turn the key yo on for 10 mins and let it relearn the key. As far as I can tell, my options are to replace the ignition lock cylinder or bypass passlock. If anyone has a clue what I'm talking about, or experience installing remote starters - let me know, I have a few questions to run past you. it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
Kris 0 #2 August 30, 2006 It's simply a resistor embedded into the key. Here's how to bypass it... http://members.tripod.com/~alarmtek/VATS.htmlSky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
wildblue 7 #3 August 30, 2006 I figured you'd be the first to respond to this I haven't decided to perm disable it though... the resistor trick would do that. Trying to avoid paying $160 for new ignition cylinder though.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
