GTAVercetti 0 #15 August 30, 2006 QuoteStop making it sound glamours... its just a friggin car wash and DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD GIFT It ain't just no friggin car wash. Detailing makes your car look LIGHTYEARS better than a car wash. Too bad it is pretty expensive around here though. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing. lisamariewillbe 1 #16 August 30, 2006 Clean cars are not all they are cracked up to be. Lets look at an example.... say you get pulled over and the cop asks for lisence and registration.... so me in my messy car not even knowing what registration looks like is fumbling around, trying to find it, taking forever etc... the cop says "look lady I have to go..." If my car were clean then what? Okay I am just pulling at straws here.... only a little time to post whore before I have to go be friggen college student... I dont wanna go to class today Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

Amazon 7 #18 August 30, 2006 Quotehow much can that cost where you are ? I got a quote last week.. to clean out all the Montana dust... dog hair..... etc.. they quoted me about $275 for my Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4...I got a LOT of truck that needs attention
SkydiveStMarys 0 #19 August 30, 2006 I said Detailed, not a new paint job!! For me it cost $70. That includes a 10 tip. The dude did a grrrreat job, hence the tip. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.
Rookie120 0 #20 August 30, 2006 I detailed my own car on monday. Cleaned the leather, polished everything, shampoo the carpet, even buffed out a small scratch on the hood. Monday afternoon it rained! Next time I think I will go have it done. For how much I spent on the cleaners and stuff to do it myself then the time I put into doing it I will just pay to have it done next time. Plus they probably can do a better job than me anyway. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Spatula 0 #22 August 30, 2006 That's an insanly great price!!! An outstanding detail job IMO consists of: Interior: Steam clean seats (cloth in my case), pull seats out and clean underneath too, steam mats (if cloth) dust the hell out of it (qtip vents, etc), apply protector all glass work (every mirror, gauge, etc) Exterior Wash Clay Polish (if needed) Wax (x2) Wheels (clean/polish) Engine (degrease/clean/polish) Thats off the top of my head and that would run me about 250-300ish.... SkydiveStMarys 0 #23 August 30, 2006 He did all that, PLUS buffed out whatever scratches he could, got the grim off the door handles, even got the grim off the radio buttons (Here I thought the paint was wearing off on them). My vents are dust free AND my cup holders aren't sticky any more!!!!LOL!! He even cleaned the lil round speaker holes!!! BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. quade 4 #25 August 30, 2006 QuoteIt only took me 4 hours sweating my ass off in the sun to learn that lesson. It s not like it really needed it anyway so it was an easy detail. Ouchies! Do yourself a favor and NEVER detail your car in direct sunlight. 1) It's hot on you. 2) Sunlight gets the car hot. So hot that the volatile chemicals in the wax reach their flash point and vaporize meaning that they just aren't there doing their job correctly. Wanna see some very cool paint work? Check out the attached photo. That's the blue of the sky reflecting in a jet black paint finish. The thing is like a freekin' mirror. The left side was, what everyone -thought- was a pretty damn good polish and wax job. The -right- side is how to do it right.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
