matt1215 0 #1 September 3, 2006 I have a ribeye broiling, unfortunately I don't have a grill. So what's the perfect method of broiling a ribeye with an electric broiler? I've opted to coat with Montreal Steak Seasoning and broil each side for 4 minutes. Hopefully I'll get something resembling Med-rare. It's sort of a treat here in Iraq. Luckily I still have a stash of very good Ranch dressing! It's hilarious. The guy that owns the local restaurant knows what I want to eat before I even speak. All he has to do is look at the condiment I am carrying. Ranch=Chicken fingers. Steak Sauce= Beef Shoarma. (A kind of cut up and seasoned steak) This place gets more and more like civilization every day. A bit rare for my taste, and a little unevenly cooked, but it hit the spot.
 matt1215 0 #5 September 3, 2006 QuoteNo lamb? Electric ovens have a 'Broil' setting that turns a top element on rather than the bottom 'Bake' element. You broil something by putting it right up under said element while it's glowing orange. I know, it's a sin to cook a steak that way . I really should invest in a proper grill.
 Mayberry 0 #10 September 3, 2006 C'mon over.
