If I can move anywhere in the US for just 5-8 months . . .

Recommended Posts

Where should I go? January - May or August, depending on the circumstances.

Any ideas? I'm basically completely disinterested in any "middle America" areas, except maybe Colorado, or somewhere equally picturesque (Utah, Wyoming, etc.). And please cut me some slack, as I've never been to Utah or Wyoming - they just seem like they might be picturesque.

I either want busy and fun, or beautiful. So go on - pimp your (favorite) city! B|

Do you want to earn mounds of money, jump your brains out, be close to hiking, be where it's really cheap to live -- more information is probably needed.

That said, it's not hurricane season, so the Florida keys should be safe.

Well, that's hard to say. I'm kinda flexible. Making mounds of money is not a factor, though. I plan on getting a crappy kind of job that I can leave after 5-8 months with no regrets. :D

But I'm thinking places like Seattle, Denver, Boston, Salt Lake City, Vegas, LA . . . as you can see, I'm pretty much all over the board. Florida's not far enough away, though. I want West Coast or northern East Coast.

Hmmmm, Seattle would be mucho fun, I think.

Oh, and jumping is also not a big factor - long as there's a dropzone I can visit once every 2 weeks to a month.

New Hampshire has no sales tax and no income tax; if you want to live in New England, I'd suggest there. You can live 30 minutes from Boston, and cost of living is cheaper.

Salt Lake City = NO! If you want to go to Utah to enjoy the scenery hit Park City, or Eden, or head south.... Not much in SLC itself.

LA = same as SLC. Unless you want to do the city scene (Hit San Diego for that - much prettier and the people are friendlier). There are much better scenic places in Cali if that's what you're looking for.

Seattle/WA would be a GREAT choice! I'd be all over the Pacific North West if I had an extended period of time to play with.

Have a BLAST girl!!!!

Hey, Krisanne - think you could find a trivia game for us in Seattle? ;)

There's a gazillion all over town...:)
You'll have to bring the rest of the team, though, too!

Agreed! I'd look at southern NH. It's nearly perfect:
1. Skiing is close by for the cold months
2. Boston is just across the border
3. The ocean is less than an hour's drive
4. Some of the best seafood lives near there
5. There are DZ's in MA and Maine, and there's a tunnel in Nashua.
6. What Wendy said about the taxes (or lack thereof)

I'm partial to the Portsmouth area, but lived in Nashua/Merrimack for eight years (lived off campus during college in Nashua, so I know it's affordable!).

Gia is a very smart girl. ;)

My "major metropolitan area" choices would be San Diego, Denver, San Francisco, and Seattle, in no particular order.

So you're gonna miss one day of the semester and so you aren't going all semester.
hmmmmmmm. Sounds like a cop out.

anyway, San Diego, ummm Key West might be nice that time of year. Or head to Tahoe for the winter season. Skiing, gambling, what else could you want to do day in day out for a few months.

But me thinks you should tough it out and stay the fruck in school no matter what it takes.

Sorry, crude joke. But I can't say "left nut" like the boys. :( Sad.

Just wondering how you would tittie-fuck your hubby? That's all.:)

No, you're making assumptions. I'm supposed to start the nursing program at GCSU, and they have orientation on the 4th. I didn't find out about it until after I got my ticket. I contacted the school, and they said the orientation is ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY.

So I contacted Priceline about changing my ticket. Bottom line, United only has first class tickets available leading up to the date I'm flying back, so it'd cost about $4k to change my ticket. And I can't change airlines.

It's just the way it worked out. *shrug* C'est la vie.

Easy Answer...
Vegas Baby!! Vegas!!

The city that really never sleeps.

Booming economy (Read lots of entry level jobs), Fun Place that always has something going on.

Are you sure you're not just looking for a place to crash when you visit? :D
