What's Your Favorite Restaurant?

Recommended Posts

It was "Truluck's"; sort of a chain, but not really. I've only been there once but it was delicious. I like the attire is casual. We actually have a fine-dining restaurant near where I live called "Ocean 60" that you can wear shorts and flip flops.:)
Naples is the only location outside of TX.

My friend said if you like Mexican she thinks "Flacos" is good.

We went to "First Watch" for breakfast (near Lowdermilk Park). I'd actually been there before as they have one near where I went to high school and we'd always skip first period and get some crepes.:D Admitedly this is one chain I love::)

I'm a sushi girl, myself, but we didn't go out for sushi. My friend recommended Blu Sushi:

And last, but not least, she said there's a Bistro on the corner of 5th, closest to 41, that she likes.

:P

Prime example of how some chains have their place.

I wish we had one here. But, I must say we have this downhome southern cooking place called "The Homestead" that is delish and serves an excellent breakfast buffet (it's not a buffet restaurant but on Sundays they put out a table and have a little room where this omelet guy makes a MEAN omelet.:P).

Oooooo. And they have $5 bottomless (BOTTOMLESS!!!) mimosas and/or bloody mary's.:)

Wow, thanks for the pointers!!!

I've never heard of Truluck's but will have to give try!

Agree with you on First watch, it is wonderful. :)
And I did think of one other place I love in Naples. It is called the light house (and is built like one) and is right on the water so boats can dock. Not gourmet food by any means, but soooo good!

Now I'm hungry and I still have almost an hour left to work!

I am mourning the death of my favorite resturant after hurricane Katrina. It used to be R&O's right next to the lake in Metarie just bordering the levee for Orleans. I could eat a roast beef poboy and seafood gumbo from there every day of the week...

Besides that, sushi anyone???

My favorite is a small chain called Season's 52. The menu changes throughout the year so they can use the freshest food for the season. All of the dishes I have tried have tasted great and they are all prepared in a low calorie, healthy way. They have a great wine selection and the desserts are served in little shot glasses, so you don't even have to "cheat" to have a yummy dessert.

We have a Seasons 52 here in West Palm Beach as well. I had my birthday dinner there this year and my meal was awesome along with the ambience of dimmed lighting and the pianist. They treated me to a dessert in the shot glass with a candle. Seasons 52 is so popular down here that it is packed every night of the week.

but something about walking in and seeing a huge tank full of live lobster didn't sit well with me.

Me neither.[:/][:/][:/]

It's hard to know beforehand when places will have such a thing. I signed so many petitions against that lobster game that some places have; you know where instead of sticking quarters in a machine and moving a claw to grab a stuffed toy, you grab a lobster and if you get it, they cook it up for.>:(

Still, the Truluck's was delish.:)
It's kinda like my whole "sometimes" philosophy. It's very, very difficult to be so extreme in anything. Unfortunately b/c of that some people just give in and throw their hands up altogether.

I think every little bit counts.:)
And I do believe in the food chain, don't forget.;) I just also believe, with all my heart, in animal welfare.

We had a place like that, too, called "Lighthouse Grill" with a real lighthouse and boat dock, the whole-nine.

Sadly, it was torn down to build condos. But, at least they left the lighthouse part up for a really long time (b/c an eagle had made its nest on top.;)). I actually called the contractor to get info on it when I first noticed it closed and was about to be tore down; I was SO pleased they were already aware of the nest and had planned accordingly for it.:)
