pullhigh 0 #1 July 17, 2006 Well, I'm planning a trip with a bud to go do some poker playing in Vegas. What are the best deals on places to stay, eat, etc? We'd like to be somewhere on the strip, or at least in a hotel with shuttle service to the strip. Any thoughts? Ganja
FlyinseivLP2 0 #2 July 17, 2006 Go during the week. The rates are about 3 times more on the weekend. You will get a much better rate downtown, but I would still stay on the strip. My last trip the cheapest casino I found to stay at was Circus Circus it is at the end of the strip but you can take the tram down the strip. I didn't end up staying there so I can't tell you what it's like. Check out Orbitz type sites and you can get an idea there.
misaltas 0 #3 July 17, 2006 As strip hotels go Sahara's pretty cheap usually. North end just a few blocks south of the Stratosphere. .Ohne Liebe sind wir nichts
jtval 0 #4 July 17, 2006 Funny thing. I live out in Vegas, and I Don't know shit about prices. or the best place to gamble. I do know that you should hit FLYWAY and SKYDIVE MESQUITE, though. RED ROCK CANYON is fucking beautiful. My photos My Videos
Thanatos340 1 #5 July 17, 2006 I completely agree with this. Bang for the Buck, You cant beat the Sahara. It is clean, Remodeled a few years back and very affordable. It also have a Tram Stop right there to get to the other end of the strip if you want.. They used to have a Poker Room Rate of $24 a night (This was two years ago and probably more now) To qualify for the rate, You just had to spend6 hours a day Playing in the poker room. No big deal at all if you are there to play. Call the Poker Room directly and ask them if they still have a Poker Rate. They will set you up if they do. They always had a pretty soft 1-4-8-8 Game and a really soft 1-2 NL game. The Sahara also has $3 Craps and Used to have $1 Blackjack. Vegas on a Budget, The Sahara cant be beat.. Much better than Circus Circus (NASTY!! and Full of Kids) or Downtown Dives.
pullhigh 0 #6 July 17, 2006 Due to work schedules, we're going to be stuck with a long weekend trip. I had noticed on all the travel sites that evrything is higher on the weekends though. Ganja

repcool 2 #9 September 7, 2006 I am off to Vegas next week for a conference and want to jump a few times. All I hear is jump Mesquite.....it is worth the drive...it's an hour away or so isn't it? Whats the attraction?
NWFlyer 2 #10 September 7, 2006 QuoteWhats the attraction? You'll be allowed to jump there. From what I hear it's the only one of the Vegas-area DZs that's not a total tandem factory."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. jtval 0 #11 September 7, 2006 Mesquite is a great little DZ with a family feel to it. Once October gets here we'll get our caravan back, but for now we're jumping a C182. My opinion- It is definitely worth the drive. My photos My Videos

LisaM 0 #17 September 8, 2006 OH RIGHT! I checked on that when I was first there but they were closed for remodeling or something like that. I think that was in goodness..... 2002? 2003? Some summer....hheheh..... ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
jtval 0 #18 September 8, 2006 yea I think they were going through a managment change at that time. I'm not sure of the exact date but it was sold to the current owners around than. its alot of fun.My photos My Videos
LisaM 0 #19 September 8, 2006 I did the dumb bungee next to Circus Circus instead. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
jtval 0 #20 September 8, 2006 I did that a few times, too. they closed because the lot was sold to a casino so they can build a parking garage. It wasn't the most fun in the world but I enjoyed it enough to go there a dozen-ish timesMy photos My Videos
Thanatos340 1 #21 September 8, 2006 I will be out there the 17th through the 20th this month. Might have to give the tunnel there one more try. Last couple times there it kinda sucked. Had to wear a Huge Baggy suit and get big as possible to stay up at all. Has the new management done anyhing to get a better column of air??
LisaM 0 #22 September 8, 2006 I was pushed into it. It scared the daylights out of me because the ground was so close. But with half my family on the ground watching, what else could I do? It was dark when I went and my throat was sore afterwards from screaming all the way down!!! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
jtval 0 #23 September 8, 2006 I don't know when you were there and what they condition was like but you still need to wear the suit. the drives are faster than I've everknown them to be but this tunnel is about tunnel flying, not skydiving. It does directly relate to the sky in the sense that your body position is the prety much the same but there are a few weaker spots. it took me a few times in the there to get the feel for it but I love it .My photos My Videos
