AggieDave 6 #17 September 8, 2006 QuoteChuck Norris The major difference is that Chuck Norris was a top level competive fighter. One of the best that has ever competed. Jet Li has never competed in fighting, only in Katas. Although he has done well with them. That's possibly why Chuck Norris' martial arts on film wasn't really flashy but very crisp and with correct technique, where as Jet Li is very flashy. If you've ever been a competitive martial artist you know what I'm talking about. Watch the top fighters then go watch the top in forms. Which one actually looks better? For me, the fighters are the ones that are impressive, or the ones doing traditional forms with crisp and perfect technique. Not the really accented moves with super deep stances that is all show and useless in any sort of situation.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Squeak 17 #19 September 8, 2006 What hjas any of that got to do with Taking the piss out Jet Li and Chuck Norris,(aka Walker Texas Ranger who cant sing) You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! AggieDave 6 #20 September 8, 2006 Quote What hjas any of that got to do with Taking the piss out Jet Li and Chuck Norris,(aka Walker Texas Ranger who cant sing) Maybe its due to my disappointment since Jet Li hasn't really done a really good movie since Fist of Legend. Although Lethal Weapon 4 was good for a laugh, it wasn't really about Jet Li.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Peej 0 #21 September 8, 2006 Dave, if you like martial arts, do yourself a favour and get hold of a flick called Ong Bak. It's about Muai Thai but some of the fight scenes and the stuff that Tony Jaa, the film's star does is incredible. It's definately worth a look. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ongbak/ Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
Samurai136 0 #22 September 8, 2006 Tony Jaa has a new movie coming out soon in the States. The plot seems a little thin. QuoteTony Jaa (Ong-bak) returns as The Protector, reteaming him with the director of Ong-bak, Prachya Pinkaew. Jaa plays Kham, a man whose life is turned upside down when an international crime syndicate steals his family's two prized elephants. The elephants were to be offered as a token of devotion to His Majesty the King of Thailand, but now Kham must travel to a foreign land to unravel a massive conspiracy. With the help of a disgraced Thai-born police detective and a woman who has lived her life as part of the slave trade, Kham must reclaim his beloved animals and stay true to his heritage against almost overwhelming odds"Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
