jumpnjivin 0 #3 September 9, 2006 Well I'm not sure I'm going yet. The weather doesn't look to great for a 5 hour drive. They are holding the Texas Skydiving League championships though and it looks like a pretty nice place. Sounds like you would give it a thumbs up?? jumpnjivin 0 #4 September 9, 2006 P.S. I want to come photograph sharks W/you. What Kinda sharks do you have in FL?
adventurechick 0 #5 September 9, 2006 Skydive Spaceland freaking rocks. The people there are so great, the landing area is huge... if you have to land off, you have many many fields to choose from. Air conditioned packing rooms.... yeah, I miss it! As for the sharks, there are many nurse sharks, silkies, few bull here and there.... you have to keep your cool. If you are calm, they are calm. On a rare occasion I tagged a small hammerhead... usually they travel in groups, but there was a lone one. So yeah, come on down, bring your scuba gear, your C-card and we'll go diving! jumpnjivin 0 #6 September 9, 2006 Nurse sharks are fun to play with. I went to Belize a few years back and there was this area called "Shark and sting ray alley." You could get in and flip them over and pet there bellies like a dog. Untill they got annoyed and took off. Are the nurse sharks there that docile? adventurechick 0 #7 September 9, 2006 The ones I'm around are not used to people so much. Nurse sharks are responsible for the most amount of shark attacks because many divers like to "play" with them or "ride the fin." Don't get me wrong, they're very nice, gentle, and docile. They will swim around and pretty much ignore you. PMS #449 TPM #80 Muff Brother #3860 SCR #14705 Dirty Sanchez #
jumpnjivin 0 #8 September 9, 2006 That was my first diving experience after I got my-C. The guide was doing it so I thought what the hell. I think they were very use to people though. there were a few others when we were doing some deeper dives that wouldn't come to close. We saw a couple of MantaRay's from a distance too, you could barely tell they were so far off.
