Oh and BTW, I am not "glad" he died, I think he put himself in harms way with not fulling understanding these bears. he tended to "humanize" them. That i believe was his BIGGEST mistake. Dont worry I will waste no time with you other than this post. I said the comments were concerning, you however dont concern me in the slightest, and i would not bother wasting my time trying to figure the like of you. I think on another level even if he didn't he had some serious mental problems. I think he bennefitted by just the fact that he got so much attention. He was obviously a pathological liar from what I have read.
christelsabine 1 #29 September 10, 2006 QuoteQuotewhat's different about that, than any of the other wildlife people out there, Jane Goodall, Diane Fossey, Steve Irwin, Bob Ballard, David Attenbourough. The only difference i see is the way the media has covered him As has been mentioned..........he was an uneducated moron. The difference is he was EXPLOITING bears for his own benefit. He had ZERO to do with conservation. Exactly that. And over all, he was permanently with his heads in the clouds - his drogue career was longer than the beard of Moses. Unable to exist in normal life, he simply escaped into the wilderness. After a while he was sure to become a Grizzly himself one day, at least to be seen and accepted as that by his fellow bears around him . I read a book about making of the movie - there were excerpts of his girlfriends diary remarks - she was scared to death to live in a tent in bear country. He forced her to stay (in the name of love, of course) with him - she paid with her life. Their very last moments - recorded on a tape - must have been the horror itself. This man was an idiot and never deserves to be mentioned with someone like f.e. Sir David Attenborough in one sentence. dudeist skydiver # 3105
