ACMESkydiver 0 #1 September 13, 2006 Just wondering if it has happened to anyone that the hearing in maybe just one ear diminishes a bit over a few years? I'll see a doc eventually, but I just saw her yesterday and I'm doctored out. I'm thinking I might have a loss of hearing in my right ear because I can't 'place' sounds, ya know? I mean if I hear something and I'm sitting still, I might think it's coming from in the distance on my left side, when in reality it was behind me and to the right. Happens all the time. It happened again just now as I'm sitting here. I thought someone was getting into our storage shed outside in front of where I'm sitting, but I got up and turned around and it was someone dragging garbage cans across the street...behind me on my right side. Is this common?~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
NWFlyer 2 #2 September 13, 2006 You had to ask this question on the day that Karen's away for surgery. I bet she'd have a perfect answer for you!"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. jtval 0 #5 September 13, 2006 every so often I go (almost) deaf in my ears. never both at the same time, though. I don't know wtf it is but I'll be minding my own business than its like my ear fell alseep. I get a weird feeling in the canal part (kinda like a muscle spasm) than I slowly regain hearing. its wierd and freaks me out but how do you go to a Dr.about that? its intermittent and may happen once every other month. ( i guess I could just explain it to the dr but I already have enough motrin to kill a horses liver)My photos My Videos

ACMESkydiver 0 #7 September 13, 2006 Yeah I wish. I think it's having 9 year old twins yell into my ear at a range of about 1 centimeter. That and flying with no hearing protection, skydiving with ear infections, y'know, stupid shit like that. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. I get the same thing!! for me it's like suddenly the sound closes down and a ringing starts. Then it feels like I'm coming down out of 10,000 feet and it pops or it just gradually comes back after a few hours. Weird. I wish Karen was here, but she has issues of her own right about now. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Zenister 0 #13 September 13, 2006 JT if you still work around a flight line, get that checked.. or at least documented so that your paid disability when you get out.... lots of aircrew, flightline and gun bunny types all tend to have some hearing loss that is directly job related.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. I'm just mute, and it's not permanent! had complications at birth from RH blood incompatibility, whatever the fuck that means... basically while mom was in the middle of the third trimester, she got real sick and we both almost died. I spent two weeks in the hospital after being born 6 weeks premature. I think a blood transfusion was mentioned, which probably contributed to my deafness."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
jamesonfd 0 #21 September 14, 2006 Get to a doctor, pronto.. Happened to a friend of mine. Many explanations are possible, but in his case it was a tumor, non-malignant but dangerous, on his auditory nerve. Not at all unheard of, and not worth taking the chance. I'll try to PM you as well.
