popsjumper 2 #27 May 3, 2007 QuoteHi pops, You've got me scatching my head. How about posting a pic or two of them side by side? Or measuring them with a caliper and posting the results. Jery Jerry, I can have a pic in a day or two but I did measure the rings (all measurements in 16th-inch) Rig#1 '94 Jav J3 Harness ring: ID: 1 5/16 Large riser ring: ID: 14/16 OD: 1 4/16 Rig#2 '97 Jav J4 Harness ring: ID: 1-12/16 Large riser ring: ID: 1 5/16 OD: 1 10/16 From this you can see that the Rig#2 riser ring will not go through the Rig #1 harness ring.My reality and yours are quite different. JerryBaumchen 1,470 #28 May 3, 2007 Hi pops, You may have a small 3-ring harness ring (mini-risers type) on one rig and a large 3-ring harness ring (standard type) on the other rig. I took one of each 3-ring harness rings out of my stock and measured the I.D. of each: 1. Large harness 3-ring / #445 (by DJ Associates): measures 1 3/4" on the I.D. (you would list this as 1 12/16: 2. Small harness 3-ring (mini-riser type) / #444 (by DJ Associates): measures 1 5/16" on the I.D. That leads me to believe that your Rig #1 has the small (mini) 3-ring harness ring and that your Rig #2 has the large (standard) 3-ring harness ring. Anybody else with a thought on this? Jerry PS) On a large (standard) 3-ring harness ring the sides of the 'D' ring go straight up to where the '0' is formed. On a small (mini-type) 3-ring harness ring the sides of the 'D' ring go up but taper towards the center (makes it look somewhat like a triangle with a round apex). crazydiver 0 #29 May 4, 2007 QuoteDoes anyone know if its possible to change the large rings of the three ring circus on a fully articulated harness from type 8 to type 17 or viceversa. What would be involved, how much would it cost and who could do it (rigger, manufacturer etc)? Thanks. Let's just call them a three ring rather than a three ring circus... Cheers, Travis
