brown skies

Here in Goleta, it was clear last night, but this morning the sky is brown-tinted overcast. It is smoke from a brush fire somewhere. You can smell it. I guess is might be from the Day fire that is threatening Fillmore.

The weather report shows the sky condition for Lompoc to the north and Ventura to the south as "clear", but cities in between are "smoke".

funny, i saw 'brown skies' and knew it was california.. but i thought you were going to mention the wonderful smog.

Yeah...I flew into LA last weekend, there was some huge fire 20-30 mile west in the hills...but THAT couldn't have been causing the thick layer of BROWN we came through on final!

Ah yes...good ole L.A.

I just returned from Lompoc. The smoke pushed through to the airport this morn. Last I heard they were taking the Caravan to Paso (Star Frams Boogie).

A couple people complained of headache and irritated throat after the one load that flew.

The sun was a pretty pink disk when it rose this morning. You could look directly at it.
