Muenkel 0 #10 September 17, 2006 OK, here's my 10,000th..... I discovered dz.com just weeks after I did a couple of tandems as a 'tourist'. My tandem master down at Skydive Space Center in Titusville planted the AFF seed in me. First, Dropzone.com is THE best skydiving site on the web...bar none. Very quickly I made quite a few cyber friends, some I met in person some time later. DZ.com saw me through my first attempt at AFF that was cut short due to my uncle's death and an injured shoulder. Despite those two obstacles, this site and its participants kept the passion alive in me. This site also saw me through my second attempt at AFF. I was just 2 jumps short of completion when I sustained a massive head injury that has kept me grounded till this day. As time went on, I made new friends and lost some (Blue Skies Girlfalldown and JumperConway). Despite the fact that I have yet to become a solo jumper, I have been fortunate enough to meet more dz.commers than you would think. I also have made quite a few friends via the phone. Over the past almost 5 years, this place has made me laugh more times than I can remember. I never knew what great senses of humor skydivers had. It also has pissed me off quite a few times...thanks Speaker's Corner. All in all, it has been a home for me. Cyber space is weird. You can meet so many people and truly care about them, feel like you've known them all your life and would not hesitate to welcome them into your home. All the thanks goes to Sangiro, the moderators and the truly awesome members here. Blue skies everyone, stay safe, be happy and always know my prayers are with you.
