In 94 I worked at the Ritz Carlton here in Houston and Sting checks into the hotel with a few of his friends and band members. Sting talked the bar manager into keeping the bar open for them for a private party until 6am. I stood at the back of the service area behind Sting while he played and sang piano tunes all night. It was a real treat!

The next day the 3 bar people got fired for it!

I don't understand this. Having been in the Hotel Industry for 15 years I do know that having Sting pay for keeping your bar open all night is a good thing for business.[:/]

Yeah, this didn't sound right to me when I read it. What kind of mgmt. is that??

If you have Sting staying at your hotel and he's not bustin' up the furniture, like some rock stars are prone to doing, and he's PAYING to keep the bar open for his private party - what was the problem???
I thought you'd want to cater to your high profile clientel, especially a Ritz Carlton.

Was there more to the story?? Did he not actually pay or something and the hotel lost $$??

There's no way they can get away without paying since they swipe their credit cards at the front desk the moment they check in. Unless Sting's credit card was over its limit.:D
