Awww ... do you boys want some alone time??

Kidding ... friends area way cool to have.

But back to the 80's ... Chris .. you got pictures of mullets, et al??

I wanna see them. I posted my BAD pink dress. You must have acid washed jeans, spiky hair and neon ...

Well since I'm about to hit a milestone, I guess I can play a little longer.

Shell, Michael and I have been good friends since early 2003. He really is a good man.

As for a mullet, nope not me. I didn't have parachute pants either or anything in neon. I lived on Long Island and had kind of a preppy look.

This sort of got lost in the shuffle, but Sunshine, I must say I agree with you. Well, about the tears for fears sucking major ass. I still think Micro's cool. He lets me channel wet sloppy kisses to his sweet wife......B|

OK, here you go. This is a pick of my sister and I in 1985. Like I said, no mullet and a preppy look.

There's a bit of a story behind this pic. I think you can see in the picture, my sister wearing braces. The pic obviously was taken at Christmas time. Well, the previous May, my sister was in a severe car accident in which she was in a coma for quite some time. She also lost all her top teeth and her jaw had to be reconstructed. She had it severely wired for several months. After they did teeth implants, they put braces back on her teeth. To this day, her teeth look perfect and totally real. It truly was a miracle she was sitting there with me.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty funny too!

WOW. That's all I can say about that. And your sis looks SO good in that picture. Funny how life comes at you.

I'm glad your sis came through that. That IS truly amazing!

And the preppy look is okay on you ...

By the way, that was a great story about your sister. I'm glad she came through it all. I was thinking that but didn't say it - sometimes I don't type what's in my head.

And I also agree with Yvonne - you looked pretty cute! It's a sweet picture of the two of you.

In Best Buy I spy a two CD Deluxe Retro Super Delicious Spectacular Rerelease of Songs from the Big Chair by Tears for Fears. In the basket it goes ...

But I have to tell you, I have forgotten just how incredibly mind blowingly good the Big Chair album was and is. It was just so influential when it hit back in the 80's... 85 I think it was. I was 15. It has some truly beautiful music on it.

If you've never ever listened to it, you're missing on some of the best stuff around.

Particularly good, IMO, are the following:

The Working Hour

OMG I love Tears for Fears!

I saw them here in, I think, 1985 or '86 ... not great seats but not nose bleeds either. The show was amazing and afterwards, we decided to meet some friends at a piano bar in a lounge in a downtown hotel. We walk in there and lo and behold, who's there but Roland and Curt! Talked to them for a bit, they sang a few "lounge songs" with local piano player and went on their way.

It was really cool. The one thing I remember about that is damn are they short!.

But like you said, GREAT music! Somewhere in the abyss that has become my house are LP's of theirs and pictures from that night.

Guess I have to clean up!

In 94 I worked at the Ritz Carlton here in Houston and Sting checks into the hotel with a few of his friends and band members. Sting talked the bar manager into keeping the bar open for them for a private party until 6am. I stood at the back of the service area behind Sting while he played and sang piano tunes all night. It was a real treat!:)
The next day the 3 bar people got fired for it![:/]

What a cool evening you had!! That would have been awesome!

Bummer that they got fired. Had they NOT kept the bar open for Sting and their manager had heard about it, they probably would have got fired anyway. Mean people suck.
