quade 4 #2 September 19, 2006 Must be a generational thing. Wasn't on when I was a kid, never watched him as an adult, so I guess I don't really understand all the hullabaloo over him. What was the attraction other than listening to him say "Crickie!" every few seconds?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
bigway 4 #3 September 19, 2006 The fact that he dedicated his life, all his money from every show to the protection and well being of reptiles and maybe that he started the australian zoo and never took a dime for himself. I think that was the attraction about him. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

I think that was the attraction about him. Are you telling me that he lived in a hovel and never made -any- money from his wide variety of enterprises? Call me hyper-cynical, but I find that -very- hard to believe. I'm not saying he wasn't a good guy and conservationist, but you make him sound like some kinda saint. Somehow, I doubt he was completely altruistic in his endevours. He did, after all, consort with "television people". quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
SkydiveStMarys 0 #6 September 19, 2006 "Must be a generational thing" Not so sure about that. I watched him occassionaly and my parents (76 & 81) watched him too, as well as my kids 8 & 11. He brought the outdoors, well indoors. Went places and showed us things that I could never imagine seeing (due to lack of funds). BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. Cornholio 0 #7 September 19, 2006 There was one on last night around that time - I think it's the same or similar. I watched it. Didn't plan on it, but saw in the guide and it turned out really well. I always enjoyed that guy. My Dad was a big fan so much that us kids got him a video of "The Croc Hunter" for him for X-mas one year. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! bigway 4 #10 September 20, 2006 I was lead to believe that all the money from the zoo went to wildlife though and the dedication of saving these creatures. I am lead wrong here? I understand all the money from his tv shows went to this endeavour .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

ImGunnaJump 0 #13 September 20, 2006 Yes, I just got home from work and saw the last 30mts. or so of it...I'm sure they'll replay it so I can see what I missed (at least I hope they do). I had tears coming down when his little daughter spoke - sweet little girl."...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort."
