yardhippie 0 #1 September 18, 2006 Just wondering. Their rates look good, but they sound like another company that merely acts as a middle man. Brains 2 #2 September 18, 2006 They are kind of a middle man. Cruise america owns the rv's but they have people set up to be "dealers" One of the guys i hunt with rents for them. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
CSpenceFLY 1 #3 September 18, 2006 I have heard complaints about the units people have gotten. They are kind of like U-Haul.You don't get to go and pick out the unit you want.I guess it depends on what you are getting it for, short trip or long haul. . skycat 0 #4 September 18, 2006 Check local places, we use to rent one every year to go to couch freaks and it was always a nice, clean, well maintained unit.Fly it like you stole it!
micro 0 #5 September 18, 2006 When Lori and I got hitched 11 years ago, we were gonna rent one as part of our honeymoon... we got screwed big. We've done the Cruise America thing a bunch of times and always had good trips. And you CAN pick the unit you want if it's a 'real' trip rental....a cheaper way to have some fun, is to 'place' a unit for them. They list a number of cities to and from and give you a certain period of time to get the unit to it's destination. you pay for Gas, and an extremely minimal usage fee. That's what we usually do, check the to and from's and plan a mini vacation...this time of year there are often a bunch in Alaska that they need returned to the lower 48... Good luck, any questions PM me. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
