happythoughts 0 #1 September 22, 2006 "...if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it." Another favorite was, "You don't have to tell every story you know." It seems like there are people of all ages who trash-talk others or repeatedly announcing some stupidity that you were involved in last year. A while ago, I came to the realization that there are other people who could look down on me and my life. I wouldn't want them bad-mouthing me. Why don't people realize that we are somewhere in the middle on stuff, not the top ? I've got a older buddy. He never has a hard word to say about anybody. Always finds the positive thing to say. He could find a quart of brown gravy in a cesspool. Sometimes, my lack of social graces gets me into trouble. That's another thing that I have tried to learn. Ignore it and walk away. You find role models in the darndest places. (heard that one A LOT!) Sorry that people aren't being as kind as they should be.... think of it this way - just proves your statement that we are somewhere in the middle on stuff. Not in a "Karma" mystical way. In a common sense way. Part of being a mature person is developing good boundaries. Crossing boundaries requires entry criteria. Kind of like "jacks or better to open". There are strangers, acquaintances, familiar acquaintances, friends, good friends... You have to earn the right to go from one stage to the next. And, of course, you can get bounced back a stage for messed-up behavior. People that keep crapping on others will eventually find that good people want to exclude them from their lives. The "goes around..." part comes from the fact that they are surrounded by people just like them. The behavior of those people is what tosses a bunch of chaos and irritation into their life. No mysticism, just healthy people making good choices.
 BillyVance 35 #13 September 22, 2006 Momma said alligators are ornery!
