Zep 0 #4 September 24, 2006 At the end of the month I shall start on the deer. that means getting up at 4.30am going to my favourite place, hiding down for a couple of hours an taking a 30yd neck shot with a crossbow. I use a lathe turned oak bolt with no point an a 1" cross sawn into it. I used to use a 30.08 but It was to impersonal if you know what I mean. Somewhere in my parent's attic is brand new Hoyt 80Lb compound bow, Graphite arrows, fiber optic sights. The works. I haven't hunted animals (With the exception of my "Cat Flinging" adventure) since 2001. Insurgents/terrorists are a much more worthy prey. Not much for eating though. jraf 0 #7 September 24, 2006 Ahhhhh...you guys are small time handlers. My best kill was a cow killed with a WWII potatoemasher. I had no idea if the chemical fuse would work i.e. give me any delay at all. It did work fine and the cow was very dead. (for further info - I was 15 at the time and we found a case of 'em potatoemashers in an abandoned earth bunker. Joys of spending time in Europe!)jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui.
