2fat2fly 0 #1 September 22, 2006 I make most of my own hotel reservation using the various websites. Hilton's blows, every time you check something aout you have to resign in-Someone should tell them that they should make the site as easy to use as Paris Would that make it a Ho-tel??I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
yardhippie 0 #2 September 22, 2006 the Marriott and ICHotels sites are easy. 2fat2fly 0 #3 September 22, 2006 Marriot is a breeze, but they've gone totally non smoking-is there anyway I can transfer my points to you? yardhippie 0 #4 September 22, 2006 I dunno but I'll take em. Im only a few thousand away from Gold bioch! on a side not only need about 8k more on delta for Gold too! PhreeZone 20 #5 September 22, 2006 I'm Silver elite on Marriot. Racked up 21 straight nights a year ago. I've seen smoking rooms in some of the Marriots in TX last time down there, are you sure you just don't know how to use the website? Most of that in the last 3 months. Got news for ya, Hippie. Gold don't mean shit at Marriott. Well, maybe free breakfast. Of course, I'm now 8 nights away from Platinum, and with my 5 next week, I'm almost there. Marriott's site is great unless you have to make changes to a specially negotiated rate (and I almost always use my clients' specially negotiated rates). Then you gotta call and chat ... but at least the Gold reservation line is fast and efficient. yardhippie 0 #8 September 22, 2006 well bout the only place gold does anything is an airline, and then its still lacking. I should see if I can combine all my hotels points. Im short gold from about 3 different chains. That should make me platinum right? 2fat2fly 0 #9 September 22, 2006 Damn, all ya'll high budget mofos, I only hit silver with Marriot and that's just because a lot of trade shows are there. Normally I can't spend that kind of money on rooms-I'm on the Hampton/HI Xpress level.I am not the man. Normally I can't spend that kind of money on rooms-I'm on the Hampton/HI Xpress level. Eh... I'm more mid-budget. I got Gold through stays at a Residence Inn and a Courtyard, which are hardly luxe. Next week will be only the 2nd time in a "real" Marriott all year (and the first was for a personal trip so it was on my dime). Ah, I miss the old days when I could be Starwood's bitch and stay at Westins all the time. Starwood (W, Westin, Sheraton) has the best frequent guest program."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. PhreeZone 20 #13 September 22, 2006 I SOOO miss the Westin. It used to be on our company perfered hotel list and I was getting rooms cheaper there then I was able to find Courtyard room. Then they did away with our corp rate and I was only 5-6 nights from Gold with Starwood.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
gravitational 0 #14 September 24, 2006 QuoteJust recently they changed their smoking policy. No smoking now in any of the marriotts. good move on their part in my opinion. I hate getting the last 'non-smoking' room where the previous tenant chain smoked. and you all are wimps: Marriott - Level: Platinum Nights this year: 109 This doesn't include any nights in other hotels chains in cities that didn't have marriotts.------ Michael

freeflir29 0 #16 September 24, 2006 When I used to travel for a living I ALWAYS stayed in Hilton hotels. They have the best points system I think. The others required too many stays to get anywhere. Of course my average was 60-80 per year. I know many people scoff at that. I'm still a diamond member with them. I'm starting to get somewhere with Starwood now. Staying in the Amman Sheraton so many times over the past 1 1/2 years was paying off. That's pretty much overwith now though. Now it's on to DUBAI!!!! Starwood's program rocks because there are NO restrictions on using the points (at least that's the way it was when I was a Starwood whore). I used my points on last-minute trips a few times and it was great to have that flexibility. For those who travel a lot, monitoring the forums for your favorite programs on flyertalk is a great way to get extra tips and tricks to maximize your points/miles."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. freeflir29 0 #18 September 24, 2006 Quotemonitoring the forums for your favorite programs on flyertalk is a great way to get extra tips and tricks to maximize your points/miles. Because I am sometimes forced to take "Company made reservations" I am now a member of no less than 4-6 differen't frequent flyer programs. I am a member of ALL the hotel programs I could find. If I could just put all those points together I'd be a million miler with somebody. Thanks for the site link. I'll have to do some surfing over there. I HATE Northworst. They were the NUMBER ONE hated airline to fly on as an air marshal. Their employees went out of their way to make my job harder. On SEVERAL ocasions I literally cursed out gate agents at that airline. Surprised I never heard about that from my boss.
NWFlyer 2 #22 September 24, 2006 I checked - there actually is a NWFlyer over there. The poor soul! NWFlyer 2 #24 September 24, 2006 Just for shits and giggles I did a search for "boobies" over there and got 17 results. There is a "community" section over there but it's got to be much tamer than Bonfire. I hardly venture out of a couple of airline/hotel program forums, though. Edited to add attachment ... some interesting boobie topics."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.
