grue 1 #1 September 25, 2006 Columbus, Ohio - The Dennis Mitsubishi dealership's advertising has gotten some people upset over its message: "Our prices are lower than the evildoers' every day. Just ask the pope! Friday is fatwa Friday, with free rubber swords for the kiddies." The ad goes on to declare "a jihad on the automotive market." "Using that as a promotional pitch when so many are dying from the criminal activity of suicide bombers, that's not funny," said the Council on American-Islamic Relations chapter president. "We firmly believe the ad does not in any way disrespect any religion or culture, but we feel, I guess, that maybe poking a little fun at radical extremists is fair game," said dealership president Keith Dennis. Some radio stations won't air the ad. Greatest ad of 2006!cavete terrae.
ntrprnr 0 #2 September 25, 2006 DUDE: GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HEAD. I JUST blogged about that. http://prdifferently.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/09/memo_launching_.html Seriously. Stop doing that. You're heavy. You're giving me a stiff neck. Edited to add that while I love the ad, from a pr perspective, it's not a good thing._______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
freeflir29 0 #3 September 25, 2006 That's freakin HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. Yesterday I was walking through my neighborhood. I was passing one of my co-workers and said rather loudly "I think I feel a JIHAD coming on tonight!" It's our little joke about getting together and playing drunken HALO on the X Box. There was a local standing just a few feet away and he gave me the STRANGEST look.
