Do you like your name?

Recommended Posts

I'm not named after anyone. Love my name, although I don't understand why it is sooooo difficult for people to pronounce correctly at times. :P:D

When I was in Hong Kong in 1988 a Chinese fortune teller told me I should add Jade as my middle name (I do not have an official middle name) and it would bring me much prosperity and career advancement. I can't say that I've had much prosperity (I live comfortably), but I'm very lucky to be where I am today within my company.

I think my name fits me VERY well!!! B|

i hated it as a kid because it was different - now that's the very reason i love it :) at least i know my parents loved me enough NOT to name me something TOO different like apple, cocoa, or moses

I LOVE my name. Of course, being an Arkansas girl, it's not unusual that I was named after one of my dad's college football teammates. Go Hogs Go! Whoo Pig Sooiee!!!

I hated it as a kid. Being ADHD I caught enough shit as it was, but with the name "Jerry" there is but a rare consonant that does not rhyme with it. Airy, berry, cherry, carry, dairy, fairy, Gary, hairy, larry, merry, nary, parry, query, sherry, Terry, very, wary, etc.

The one I hated the most was "peanut butter and Jerry." Oooooh, I hated it. Though it ain't so bad now...

my first name rocks IMO, but my last name, well it's funky.

it's Dudek, pronounced "Doo-deck" and people fuck it up all the time. I've gotten the following:

doo-dick
doo-dah
doo-dack
doo-doo
duh-dack
doo-dickles
dork-dick
doe-dick
doe-deek
duh-duh
douche
doodie
....

the list goes on and on and on... :D

I miss Lee.
And JP.
And Chris. And...

Were you dating a Latina at the time? :o

Yeah. I thought her ex boyfriend was an anti-Semite. Only later did I find out his name was actually Hugh Jater. She just pronounced it wrong.

No.

Nein.

Nope.

Nyet.

Not at all.

The first and last names are bad enough, then throw in my middle name (and most importantly, its diminutive) and it sucks majorly.:(

I guess it could be worse -- I could have been the first-born grandson and been stuck with "Harold" formally and "Butch" informally!;)

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
