ACMESkydiver 0 #1 September 28, 2006 That's right, bitches! Envy me! That was one helluva show, I must say. That was one of THE coolest birthday presents ever... -It ROCKS having a friend that knows head of security. Shitty pics, but hey we were too busy screaming to get good photos. -And 'NO' I didn't actually throw my panties on the stage. That was the FIRST concert I have ever gone to not completely wasted. I have to tell you, it's pretty fuckin' cool remembering the bands that played and not puking in the parking lot. I think I'll have to do that more often. My husband is the best. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

Cornholio 0 #3 September 28, 2006 What is a "mosh pit pass" ? You have to have a pass to get into the mosh pit? WTF? Do you have to pay extra or do you get a discount? Butthead: Whoa! kenz 0 #5 September 28, 2006 usually you need a specific ticket for GA - seems like an awesome show!! not so much of a godsmack fan but LOVE rob zombie - saw him at a horror film convention that my godfather appeared at... kick ass! glad you had a great time!!! edited to ask - did you go crowd surfing???"life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
Lindercles 0 #6 September 28, 2006 No shit. Once a band sells a certain number of albums there's no such thing as a GA show anymore.

ACMESkydiver 0 #8 September 28, 2006 QuoteOn a school night? I know we must be getting old, but Joe and I were thinking the same thing. Concerts aren't like what they used to be. The last concert Joe went to, interestingly enough, was White Zombie. -The last one I had been to was Metallica (Ok yeah it was Metallica/Guns n' Roses, but nobody there went to see Gn'R ). Back in 'those days', the mosh pit was a recipe for the ER...I fell once in the mosh pit at Metallica and if it wasn't for a really big guy that literally yanked me back onto my feet by my jacket collar I would have been crushed. Joe's buddy went to the ER after splitting his head open at White Zombie. -now it's pretty tame. It's almost weak it's so tame!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

Yes, you have to have a pass, and yes it costs extra. -Unless, of course, you know head of security. Then it's free, baby! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #11 September 28, 2006 Quoteedited to ask - did you go crowd surfing??? Surprisingly, there wasn't a bunch of crowd surfing. There was some to be sure, but it was extraordinarily tame for what Joe and I had expected for a Zombie/Godsmack concert. And if you can see in the photos, we were sitting in chairs on the railing right above the mosh pit. We opted not to risk it...plus there was a lot of whacky weed goin' on down there, and I still try to be extra cautious as I don't know when I will finish up my commercial pilot ratings. It would suck to work that hard and pay that many thousands of dollars only to lose it because of a stupid mistake, y'know? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #12 September 28, 2006 QuoteI enjoyed the B-day DD. Yeah we were pounding down beers in the beer garden because we couldn't go back into the concert with beer in hand. That was hard slamming back those really big tall cans of beer (and it was Budweiser, which I'm not particularly fond of) that fast to get back in and see the show. The lead singer of Godsmack is SO talented! We were blown away! Of course he sang, but he also played guitar, then they brought out a second drum set and they did a whole set of a kind of 'dualing drums' with his drummer...then he did a set on bongos...we were just surprised at this guy's talent. We went to see Rob Zombie, but we were surprised how entertaining Godsmack was. -And we retracted our statement of saying "Godsmack is like the 'New Kids on the Block' of metal/rock." I'm glad they proved us wrong. They put on a great show.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

It really costs extra to mosh? You gotta be shittin me! I know about GA and never EVER heard about paying extra to mosh. Did that come down from the band, the concert promoters, or the venue? Lindercles 0 #14 September 28, 2006 I was just as shocked the second time I saw TOOL. The first show was in '97 and entirely GA. By the second show in '01 I had a seat and couldn't get on to the floor at all. Edited to add: The ticket also cost me three times as much, and that was even for a floor ticket. Honestly I don't know who was wanting the extra dough...but the venue was perfect for charging extra. The whole floor area in the amphitheater was the mosh pit, and you had to turn right and head down a ramp to get there, and of course they had security there checking to see if you had a bracelet.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #19 September 29, 2006 Proof that we were most definitely NOT at a Neil Diamond concert.
