I'll share a story about Buddha that I haven't shared in awhile, but it's a nice reminder (short version): Buddha was walking through the desert minding his own business and an antagonist who didn't like all the good that Buddha was doing and the wisdom he shared followed him around and tried to influence him by telling him that he was a terrible person that no one believed or would follow or love him. The antagonist did everything in his power to take Buddha's spirit. Buddah continued his walk quietly, but the antagonist continued to follow with his negativity. Finally Buddha turned to the antagonist and said "Let me ask you a question. If someone offers you a gift and you refuse to accept that gift, who then does the gift belong to?" The antagonist looked confused and said "Of course, it stays with the giver". Buddha calmly smiled and said "Exactly" and continued his journey. Moral of the story is that we can choose to allow these antagonists in our lives or choose to live without them. I chose to continue my journey without them. I've finally come to the realization in my life that I can't help everyone.
