Gawain 0 #2 September 30, 2006 Quote Talk about getting ripped off. While it would be nice to bash SBC/AT&T, this is the lady's fault for not paying attention to the world literally changing around her. Telecom has be deregulating for over a decade now. Anyone who watches TV or listens to the radio, reads newspapers, magazines, ad infinitum, has seen some kind of advertisement for telco service on one level or another. The bills aren't so hard to read either. IMO, a company can't be responsible for a poorly educated customer. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! matt1215 0 #3 September 30, 2006 I agree with you there, one has to stay on top of what they're paying for, along with being informed of cheaper substitutes to avoid getting screwed. Still there's a comical element to that story (talk about a killer return on investment ).
jumpinfarmer 0 #4 October 1, 2006 I didn't see any attachment so I'm not sure what the story is but I think I get what is being said. I saddly admit that untill just a few months ago my own mother was still paying $1.15 per month rent on the white dial phone on her kitchen wall When she called the phone co. to find out what she had to do with it they told her to throw it out, they didn't want it That was it ever since they haven't charged the $1.15 and she still has the phone, even though she got a newer one.
