HEY! Who Else Wants to Train for the "COUCH TO 5K" Program with Lisa and me?!

If you have subscribed by clicking on the button on the page referenced by Marc, you should see something like the attached (Grab.gif) in iTunes. To get additional podcasts, click on the "Get" button. (I have to say that it is taking a real long time to download.) That should get it on your computer.

Check your podcast preferences (iTunes - Preferences) and make sure that iTunes is set to keep all the podcasts and not just the most recent one.

I don't have an iPod here to connect but I think that when the iPod is connected you should check the preferences for that iPod to make sure there isn't something in there that would prevent the transfer of the podcasts to the iPod.

Hope that helps.

Here's the last thing to check.....see attached.

After hooking up your iPod, select it in the area to the left. Then select the Podcasts tab and make sure that the "Podcasts for Running" check box is selected.

If I get cleared by the doc next week to start running, I'll have just about 2 months before the Run to the Far Side (San Francisco's fall version of Bay to Breakers - 5k and 10k).

And it will be off to the beach!

Shweet! Let us know how you're doin', k?

lately my training techniques are not ones I advise following. Last year I trained 2 or 3 days, ran/walked a 5k in the January, then jumped Bridge the Gap on Saturday, carbo loaded on pizza and beer, and did the San Diego Marathon the next day. That approach leaves you with very sore quads that make stairs hell for a week.

A 2 month program seems like overkill, but it probably isn't very different from what I did in 2000 when I returned to racing after a 10 year absence. (iow, left high school) I ran weekly, then twice weekly, then upwards of 4 a week doing a 3ish mile course.

If you can do 2-3 a week for a couple weeks, the initial pain and discomfort of running fade away quick.

Yea! Downloaded all 9 weeks last night! Took all night, but I just slept through it anyway. :D

And Kristi and I sort of started yesterday, but we had to cut our run short to go to trivia. :D I plan on going to the KSU gym and hittin' the treadmill. Hopefully the constant "speed up, slow down" intervals won't make the guy next to me want to kill me. :D

I hurt my back 2 weeks ago at a kickboxing class. I just tried jogging today over lunch....and I'm going to have to forget about this for a little bit longer.

I'll be running tomorrow after my 90 minute massage. :)

Are you nuts? You will be jello after a 90 minute massage.

I just know after a massage for that length of time I am blissfully nonfunctional. I couldn't imagine running!
