murrays 0 #51 September 26, 2006 If you have subscribed by clicking on the button on the page referenced by Marc, you should see something like the attached (Grab.gif) in iTunes. To get additional podcasts, click on the "Get" button. (I have to say that it is taking a real long time to download.) That should get it on your computer. Check your podcast preferences (iTunes - Preferences) and make sure that iTunes is set to keep all the podcasts and not just the most recent one. I don't have an iPod here to connect but I think that when the iPod is connected you should check the preferences for that iPod to make sure there isn't something in there that would prevent the transfer of the podcasts to the iPod. Hope that helps.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
kelel01 1 #52 September 26, 2006 Ok, I'll have to look when I get home. Thanks so much! And yeah, just week 9 took over an hour to download. It's ok - I have until Thursday (since I already decided I'm winging it today.)
murrays 0 #53 September 27, 2006 Here's the last thing to check.....see attached. After hooking up your iPod, select it in the area to the left. Then select the Podcasts tab and make sure that the "Podcasts for Running" check box is selected.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
kelpdiver 2 #54 September 27, 2006 QuoteQuoteIf I get cleared by the doc next week to start running, I'll have just about 2 months before the Run to the Far Side (San Francisco's fall version of Bay to Breakers - 5k and 10k). And it will be off to the beach! Shweet! Let us know how you're doin', k? lately my training techniques are not ones I advise following. Last year I trained 2 or 3 days, ran/walked a 5k in the January, then jumped Bridge the Gap on Saturday, carbo loaded on pizza and beer, and did the San Diego Marathon the next day. That approach leaves you with very sore quads that make stairs hell for a week. A 2 month program seems like overkill, but it probably isn't very different from what I did in 2000 when I returned to racing after a 10 year absence. (iow, left high school) I ran weekly, then twice weekly, then upwards of 4 a week doing a 3ish mile course. If you can do 2-3 a week for a couple weeks, the initial pain and discomfort of running fade away quick.
skymedic 0 #55 September 27, 2006 Your welcome guys. Just something I found that I figured you all would like. Music isn't too bad either and most importantly you don't have to stare at your watch during your intervals. THAT is the best part. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman.... kelel01 1 #57 September 27, 2006 Yea! Downloaded all 9 weeks last night! Took all night, but I just slept through it anyway. And Kristi and I sort of started yesterday, but we had to cut our run short to go to trivia. I plan on going to the KSU gym and hittin' the treadmill. Hopefully the constant "speed up, slow down" intervals won't make the guy next to me want to kill me.
murrays 0 #58 September 27, 2006 I hurt my back 2 weeks ago at a kickboxing class. I just tried jogging today over lunch....and I'm going to have to forget about this for a little bit longer.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
kelel01 1 #59 September 28, 2006 Ok, did a full 30 minutes, with the podcast. I highly recommend it. I actually REALLY liked the music. And the guy is pretty motivational, too. Only bad thing is, now my feet stink. My shoes are old, so I should probably buy new ones.
