ACMESkydiver 0 #1 September 22, 2006 Come on! It'll be fun!! Here's the link to the COUCH TO 5K program that NWFlyer talked about in my running thread. So come on! Who else is in? We'll keep track in a 'Couch to 5k' thread every week to see how we're doin'! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. mailin 0 #3 September 22, 2006 I did this program before my compartment syndrome got too bad - it really works, but you really ahve to follow it. After my surgery, I'm back at it (whenever I plan to actually get it done). Good luck! JenArianna Frances

ACMESkydiver 0 #5 September 22, 2006 Quote Sure, I'll do it. Prove I'm not! You suck! Ok, for everyone ELSE... I ran/walked for 30 minutes yesterday. 5 minute warm-up, 20 minutes of the 60 seconds run/90 seconds walk, and 5 minutes cool down. It ended up being about 1.3 miles. (Oh, and this is treadmill running. I can't do road running for a while ) Not spectacular, but hell it's a start. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Lindercles 0 #6 September 22, 2006 I've been running about half a mile 3-4 times a week for the last couple months. I could actually use an extra kick in the pants to get past that hurdle. I'm in.

ACMESkydiver 0 #11 September 22, 2006 Quote Seriously, though - for some motivatoin, check out www.gmap-pedometer.com Totally motivating. Ok, I found my house. -The satelite pic has got to be 5 years old or better; it doesn't have the play system in the backyard and those aren't our cars in the driveway. That's cool, now we can figure out how many miles my hubby and daughter's route is without driving them all the time (they are WAY ahead of me; they already competed in a 5k and are on towards the triathlon)~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #19 September 22, 2006 Awrighty then, here is our little quasi-running club so far: LisaM ACMESkydiver Lindercles Ntrprnr Kelel01 -and Mailin when she can start Hooray for running couch 'taters! Maybe we'll have a running thread each week to see where you're at, or what you accomplished. I know I'll send out my victories (because that's what every single run is for me...a freaking victory! ) -And if you have any cool web sites or books or reeeeally cute running shoes you must share. I can't wait to get my 'ChiRunning' book in! If my sister doesn't get it for my birthday, I have it on hold at the library for when it comes back in. I'll look into getting that Non-runners Marathon Training book, too. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. kelel01 1 #20 September 22, 2006 I want some cute Sauconys. Sauconys fit my feet the best, but as far as I know, they don't make anything too cute. I'll have to look into it.
McBeth 0 #21 September 22, 2006 If I can work it in with all the other things I'm doing I would love to do this. I did just start doing yoga and step classes though, so I'm not sure it's the right time. I am going to start tonight
