Sockpuppet 0 #4 October 4, 2006 Def an AN-2 ------ Two of the three voices in my head agree with you. It might actually be unanimous but voice three only speaks Welsh.

Tonto 1 #6 October 4, 2006 In South Africa we call that an AN-2, but we use the Chinese Pronounciation. tIt's the year of the Pig.

racer42 0 #10 October 4, 2006 QuoteAN-2? That's not an AN-2. Everbody knows the AN-2 is a Soviet era single engne biplane. The difference between it and a Beech 99 is that the AN 2 has a 54 HP diesel engine and is covered in cow hide.L.A.S.T. #24 Co-Founder Biscuit Brothers Freefly Team Electric Toaster #3 Co-Founder Team Non Sequitor Co-Founder Team Happy Sock
popsjumper 2 #11 October 4, 2006 Ok...I'm a dumbass...either someone is making funnies at my beloved Beech 99 or they are stone-cold drunk to confuse it with an AN-2. ???My reality and yours are quite different. diablopilot 2 #12 October 4, 2006 I don't think so, the engine nacell is all wrong. I'm gonna guess a Cessna 402.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
wildblue 7 #13 October 4, 2006 There's something on the wing! Some.... thing!! (Read that as William Shatner, Jim Carey, or John Lithgow)it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

I would agree, that looks like a cessna nacelle, also the door is located very close to the wing.Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward
AggieDave 6 #15 October 4, 2006 Kinda wide to be a 402 door, unless there's a cargo varient that I haven't seen before.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
diablopilot 2 #16 October 5, 2006 Looks just about right I think. The 402's I've jumped had a 2 part door, and both of them had both parts (fore and aft) removed for jumping.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. pilotdave 0 #18 October 5, 2006 Piper Seneca would be my guess. Can't be a Cessna... they all have nacelles that extend behind the wing. Definitely not a king air or any other turbine, that's a piston engine. The door is over the trailing edge of the wing, probably meaning it's pretty small, and there's a little angular window behind the door. Piper seneca is the only plane I can think of that matches. Either that or it's a chinese copy of the An-2. Dave
Rainbo 0 #19 October 5, 2006 I think it a Navajo, but they painted it to look like an AN-2.Rainbo TheSpeedTriple - Speed is everything "Blessed are those who can give without remembering, and take without forgetting."
AggieDave 6 #20 October 5, 2006 Could it be a QueenAir? The piston smaller version of the KingAir?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
pilotdave 0 #21 October 5, 2006 Navajo doesn't work... door doesn't extend forward over the flap and the aft window is too big. The queen air (at least one version of it) has a similar rear window, but I don't think the door extends forward enough. Dave
