AggieDave 6 #15 October 9, 2006 Und Sie sind einer Deutsche sprecken man. If my years of German study still hold up. Its been a LONG time since I've tried anything with German. Lately I've been trying really hard to get better at my spoken Spanish. Been thinking about the Rosetta Stone software, actually. If I could get myself fluent, my life would be safer.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

AggieDave 6 #17 October 9, 2006 They offer courses that has been helpful, lots of very specific training. However, they won't pay for the software or additional training. The training they offer are 3 day long courses specific to some things that teach you some phrases and words. That's it.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." wmw999 2,589 #20 October 9, 2006 One thing you can do to improve your understanding of spoken Spanish is to listen to the Spanish-language talk radio stations. Those folks generally have pretty clear accents; better than what you'll hear on the street, but that makes it easier for you to understand. Once you understand everything on the radio easily, you'll be doing fine. It's part of that practice-makes-perfect thing. If you don't get the opportunity, that's one way to make the opportunity. I also watch Spanish TV, especially if they have a movie on that I've seen enough times to know whats going on and what is generally being said. It has helped me with the understanding quite a bit.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
