Make sure it's for REPLACEMENT value of the item (and not what you paid for it XXX years ago or what they deem to be the value after depreciation). And it is a small price to pay if your place gets broken into. Great to have!! 'Shell'Shell

dbattman 0 #16 October 10, 2006 You might want to declare the rig upfront in case there's an issue later. Take a picture or something like that. Another good thing about Renter's/Homeowners is you can add a liability umbrella for another $8-10 a month. That would certainly make some shyster lawyer really happy some day. lawrocket 3 #19 October 10, 2006 Anybody who is renting, get renter's insurance. It's cheap and covers just about everything you'll need covered. My wife is hotter than your wife.
Dumpster 0 #20 October 11, 2006 Smart Girl! A friend I knew years ago lost all his stuff when his ratty apartment burned down, he had no coverage, and he was at work. He came home to absolutely nothing, the place burned like a tinderbox. I have my gear covered under my homeowners' policy. Any individual item is covered up to $5,000, up to a total of $25,000, full replacement cost. Deductible I think is 500 bones. Cost of the rider is about $110 a year. I also have all my tools at work covered, just in case. Cheap insurance, baby! Easy Does It
