hookitt 1 #2 April 3, 2007 How much do you weigh? TJ's hold relatively small parachutes. 92 javelins are not worth much at all. They are not freefly friendly unless it's been highly modified. (not just a simple bridle cover... but much more). It's ok for belly flying but don't be fooled in thinking it's ok to sitfly and perform flippy doos a spins and such. You must provide more details. Your body weight. Container brand and model Parachute model and size (main and reserve) 92 Javelin TJ... not worth much at all. 1100 jumps on what parachute? Again... probably not worth much at all. What size and model reserve? It may technically be worth 1000 bucks, but may not be suitable for you. Look up GravityGirl She is very good at helping new jumpers find used equipment at good prices. She has a lot of experience doing 4 way RW, Freefly, AFF, and knows equipment in a practical sense not just a dollars sense. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... So long as I'm allowed to ask experienced skydivers their opinion about whether or not I'm getting screwed on a deal, the answer is a definate-----YES. Why not?
 PhreeZone 20 #7 April 3, 2007 Typically a lot of people choose to work with a local gear dealer that know rigs so that they can have the dealer or rigger inspect the rig to make sure that it is in as good of condition as advertised or if there are issues that need addressed. This way you also foster a relationship so that if you need new goggles you know who to get them from locally. You are more then welcome to ask the forums but people like Bonnie from GravityGear do nothing but deal in gear everyday of the week and they know if its a good deal or not a heck of a lot more then most people that only have bought one rig in their life. Bonnie helped me with buying my rig after I returned to the sport. She really deeply cares about fixing people up with the right gear, new or used. She just opened a Gravity Gear 2 near San Diego last year, so you should PM her too, 77r. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
