Shoud I be worried about my son?

Recommended Posts

We just bought Bambi for him to watch and it's his new favorite film. I never cried when Bambi's mom got shot. I save the waterworks for Dumbo in the scene where Dumbo visits his mom in jail. Thus, Dumbo has been banned from our house.

My son doesn't cry either when Bambi's mother gets shot. However, there is a scene in th emovie a bit later when the animals are all trying to escape the hunters. Several gun blasts are heard and lots of things get blown away.

My son thinks that this sequence is the funniest thing he's ever seen! he laughs uproariously at every gun blast. All that's missing is, "GET SOME, BABY! GET SOME! GET SOME!!

Statistically, he turned 26 months old yesterday. Is he ignorant about what is really going on? Or, has the curse that was put on me years ago come true, making my son the spawn of Satan?

Even more important, why do I find his reaction so funny?

I don't see any reason to be worried. You're just getting paid back for all the things you did to your parents when you were young. This is just the beginning. Now go out and buy him some toy guns so he can GET SOME OF HIS OWN, BABY!

Yesiree bop! Being a parent is some sort of natural revenge for having been a child.

BTW, I haveen't seen Bambi meets Godzilla in ages - I'll have to dig it out for the kids.

he probably goes through sensory overload - there are a lot of things going on visually and audibly and it probably excites him -
don't worry - he'll be fine - and your reaction is fine - kids do things alllll the time that we should not laugh at but can't help it - my cousin's daughter used to hump this fire truck she had when she was about 14 months old - it was disturbing as all hell - but really funny to watch - especially after my cousin took her off and she ran over and jumped back on and SHE would laugh while on the truck

Nothing about my boy pisses me off more than when I laugh hilariously at the bad things he does. It's horrible to try to discipline him for doing something wrong when he can tell he has amused me greatly.

I think he doesn't realize what is happening. It could be that he's amused that the animals are so scared by loud noises.

Of course you find his reaction funny. When little kids laugh, how can you not react that way. They don't fake it, it is pure emotion, and of course you love it that your kid is able to be so happy.

I also saw The Revenge of Bambi at the same time as the original.

It was a midnight movie festival, Hardware Wars (Star Wars parody), and Porklips now (Apocalypse Now parody) were also shown.

I'd recommend getting out the video camera, so in 15 years, when he tries to blame you for his problems, you can just pull out the video and explain that he was screwed up from the very beginning. ;)

Seriously though, just be glad he's acting like a guy. If he starts asking for Barbie dolls and an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas... THEN you need to worry! :D
Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!

My aunt does the same thing.. laughs when her son acts up.. cause it is kinda funny. She doesnt do it as much now that he's 11 and 11 years is a long time I guess. ;)

This kid.. I swear he was not even 2 years old.. I was standing in the kitchen talking to my uncle when suddenly the kitchen lights went out.. dishwasher shut off.. etc.. I found him outside on the side of the house FLIPPING BREAKERS ... wearing nothing but a DIAPER! I'm glad he wasnt mine to discipline cause I was laughing my ass off!

No, he's 100 percent boy. His big thing is trucks. He LOVES trucks.

Attached is a picture proving how much of a guy he is, and hopefully proving to the women that it is a natural thing.
