Another computer problem HELP!

Recommended Posts

Now I seriously did it. I got a TV Card for my computer. I didn't have a slot for it so I took out what I think is the old phone modem, it has phone jacks on the back. I stuck in the TV card and I go to boot the computer and I get "Plug & Play configuration Error, Strike F1 to continue or F2 to run setup" I can only get the computer to run in safe mode. I did a system restore back to yesterday and it is not fixed. I tried putting the card I took out and it is not fixed. HELP!!!!!

You have to run setup so the BIOS can properly configure itself for the card.

Enter the setup and then all you should have to do is exit and save changes. Let the computer restart and thats it.
Thats my .02 without knowing more about your setup.

When I hit F! it asks the three different choices to run safemode and to try to continue normally (which doesn't work) Went through the set up when I hit F2 there is nothing really to change but there is nothing to really run.

This sucks. I am having such a shitty day and this just adds to it.[:/]

sounds like an irq conflict.. check settings on the new card.
They may need to be manually set with jumpers.
Also, goto start, control panel, system, then Hardware, device manager (Windows XP) .
Click on devices, then properties and check for conflicts on your com ports and the tv card. change accordingly to remove them.
Keep a log of the changes you make!!!
Good luck!!!B|

On the other hand,...it could be evil humours or a toad living in your hard drive.
If your willing to drive inside the loop we can visit a curandero I know. Veeery reputable. She'll have you fixed up in a jiffy.

Oh, you'll have to bring your own rooster. (I'll explain later.)

quite honestly, I'd pull out all the other boards with the exception of the video card and restart it. Add the TV card second and restart. Keep adding boards until it doesn't start correctly

What kind of TV card is it?
