I got a bank wire and it cost $25 for the sender and $15 for me to receive it. That's ridiculous!

in an era of paypal and others like it, no reason to use bank wires between friends. Corps should be able to do EFTs.

paypal makes it harder to transfer amounts over $500, and charges the usual credit card fees (3%?) for ones made for by the sender's visa.

But payments fed in through a bank account should be well under that $35.

You need to do an EFT (electronic funds transer) If you use online banking You can go into "tranfers" in your otions and set up a third party transfer. I transfer funds from account to account in two different banks along with sending my father money and vica versa with two different bansk. They are free because they are not wire transfers. Wire transfers are processed differently and fees are charged.

It doesn't makes sense but thats how it works. I used to be in banking before I entered the medical field.
