dweeb 0 #30 October 13, 2006 There's another DZ out in Imperial, which is east of San Diego about 2 hours. Andy Whitcomb (from SDSD) is the DZO. He's worked very hard to get his place up to snuff. If you find that the weather conditions in San Diego, Perris or Elsinore aren't good, give Andy a call out in the desert. There's a good chance they'll be flying. curtismelaniej 0 #32 October 13, 2006 QuoteQuoteElsinore (great, great, great people), So, far this one's winning. Hi, I vote Elsinore too (duh!)..... I'm pretty much there everyday, and November we have a BUNCH of visiting groups in town so we'll definitely be sending planes midweek if that's when you plan on jumping..... weekends we have more fun jumpers out, but our Freefly Thursdays have been growing steadily this year, so we've got a lot of good peeps out that day usually too-- and I'm down to go play pretty much anytime...... if I'm stuck in the office, just twist my arm for like 2 seconds, and I'm there..... Sweeeeet.... Any other questions, just let me know-- or feel free to drop me an email at mel@skydiveelsinore.com. Right ooon.... __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
PLFXpert 0 #33 October 13, 2006 You are awesome! Thank you so much!It will definitely be a weekday we'd be there as our weekend days are booked. I think for Billy it's really between Elsinore and Perris Valley. Between the response here and especially via pm (chickens) Elsinore seems to be a favorite by all. Ya'll are getting me excited. I want to see Cali falling through the air. I will definitely let you know what/what day we decide.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. curtismelaniej 0 #34 October 13, 2006 Cool! Elsinore is also BEAUTIFUL from the top... the lake, the Ortega Mtns, the Pacific, Catalina Island on a clear day, San Bernardino Mtns (I think ), and of course all the housing development all over this area. Gorgeous! Actually, it all really is gorgeous. __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html

ltdiver 3 #37 October 14, 2006 QuoteAre you still allowed to? I wasn't sure. I thought there was a limit now on how big carry-ons could be and only 1 carry-on per person (I refuse to check my bag w/ my wallet & valuables in it). I learned from a very famous cameraflyer that if they raz you about your camerahelmet just take it out of the bag and put it on your head, calling it a hat. You're allowed a hat. Really. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Really. ltdiver oh my goodness, is this really true?? Just read the airline by-laws for carry-ons. You're allowed one personal item (purse, usually), one carry-on (computer, bag, etc), and a coat or hat. Probably stems from when people would dress up in a suit and tie (or dress) to ride the aeroplane. It was a big deal! Last time I checked (when was Nat's Chicago?) the hat law was still there. btw, just ask Ray next time you see him. He never had to invoke it, but he was prepared if he did... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
PLFXpert 0 #40 October 14, 2006 I love creativity! We're still undecided. There are two pros and one con to bringing our rigs and jumping while we're on this trip. The pro is big enough to still be even with the cons, though (does that make sense?). I think we'll end up deciding we want to jump...but worst-case scenario this is just the first trip of many more to come to San Diego so there will be more opportunities than just this time around to jump in Elsinore (or another DZ there.)Thanks for the info, guys!Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
