I cried in the restaurant when she gave it to me. I normally always cry when my family gives me something. My brothers always try to surprise me with little gifts here and there of things I've said I would like to have. Last Christmas from my dad, I received DVD of all the home movies he took on his 8 mm camera. I have my brothers (which are both quite a bit older than I) of when they were younger before I was born of their holidays together and then my first Christmases and birthdays. The best part was watching it with my dad. It was the last present I received from him. After my grandparents had all passed away, my mom retrieved all of the photos that she'd sent to them over the years. She supplemented them with copies of ones she had in her collection, and put together a two-album set of photos of me and my family from my birth through grad school graduation (she did a similar collection for my brother). One year, while I was working at WFFC people told me that they were calling me over the loudspeaker that I had mail at the registration tent.(My b-day happened to fall the last weekend of the convention.)So I go up there to find a birthday card from my grandmother. She had timed it just right through the mail that I would get her card all the way from TX to IL on my b-day.I thought it cute and silly then but that card is very precious to me now. The next year at WFFC I got a call on my cellphone from my best friend who was,at the time, stationed in Iraq. That was cool. As for actual gifts, I cant think of anything right off hand to be the best.My parents paid for AFF and that was around my b-day,so that would be one.The other would be this year's birthday gift,a joint effort from my husband and parents. They paid for my TX Concealed Handgun License course and application fees.Just waiting on the license now.
