ACMESkydiver 0 #1 October 16, 2006 I just CAN'T do it without getting sick! I always thought my sore throat problems after having a drink and a smoke were just me getting a cold... but it has happened after every cigarette (which are NOT many -once per month). My throat is sore and I am getting a cold. I swear my immunity goes straight to hell when I have a drink or a smoke! So no more. Why bother? I can do without it! Does anyone else get a sore throat or a cold after they've had a lil' drinky-drinky or smokes? Is it just me?~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. sunshine 2 #2 October 16, 2006 I don't smoke, but i do get sick when i've been in a smokey environment. Hanging out in a bar for 5 hours gives me sniffles and a sore throat, sends my sinuses into a frenzy. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! karenmeal 0 #5 October 16, 2006 It has been almost a year since I finally quit smoking. I haven't cheated the whole time and my lung function has improved significantly! I use my inhaler just a couple of times a month now as opposed to multiple times a day. Do it Jaye.. it feels soooo much better. jtval 0 #7 October 16, 2006 I couldn't agree with you more. I quit 7 years ago.http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=574967;search_string=quit%20smoking;#574967 I don't even remember Myself as a smoker. Funny thing; My G/F smokes. It bothers me a little but not enough to fight over it. Occasionally we sitin the nonsmokig section (just about as often as we sit in the smoking section.) and the smoke doesn't make me ill any more. It just smells like burning leaves. But One thing I can not standis a shitty ashtray on the table while i eat. Andy9o8 3 #14 October 16, 2006 I don't know about smoking, but I'll tell you this about drinking. Yesterday, in the car on the way home from a wedding we all attended at which some people actually got a little drunk, my mother in law was ragging on and on (and on and on) about how ALL drinking is bad for you, no matter how little, and how nobody, but nobody, should ever drink alcohol, period. Ever. No ifs, ands or buts. I had to bite my tongue to keep from telling ol' MIL just how much my drinking while in her presence over the years has kept her in good health. It's strange, and bad because every time I smoke a cigarette, I get really light-headed, which is not a good addition to already being drunk. I usually feel really shitty afterwards. Weird.. I've been holding back from smoking cigs because I realized that they made me feel like shit more than anything else. Drinking, on the other hand...
