Lindercles 0 #1 October 17, 2006 Ok everyone, today starts week 4 of the runners club. I think a few people are actually keeping up and should be starting week 4 today. Like some other people, I re-did week 1, so last week I did week 2. I got all three runs in, and they all went well. Today I started week 3. I had been dreading it until I realized that week three is basically just a mind fuck. You do the exact same amount of running as week 2, but the increments are rearranged so you run for longer periods at once. By the time I was finished I really felt like I'd cheated because I wasn't all that tired, and I hadn't traveled as far and had only run 4 times instead of 6, but nope, I did it all. Week three is easy, folks! So, how is everyone doing? Don't make me pull up the roster, fess up!
legorowbot 0 #2 October 17, 2006 I managed to finish week 2 and move on to week 3 run 1 today. Being done in 4 runs is so nice. It feit like the run was over a lot faster. One down two to go...Why does it say "Append signature to post" when I don't have a signature?
LisaM 0 #3 October 17, 2006 I didn't get but 1 in last week... I blame the new kitty! Doing Week #3 this week! My first shot in week #3 ticked me off! 3 minute run!!!! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

bob.dino 1 #5 October 17, 2006 I've just run for the first time in a couple of weeks - did about 2km of hills and felt great. Only time (it's the middle of the working day here) stopped me doing a little more.

ntrprnr 0 #8 October 17, 2006 Ran my last race before the marathon this past sunday. Staten Island Half Marathon, 1:46:02. Best time EVER. 18 days till the marathon. 18 and a half days until I can drink. :D :D_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." aliveboy2004 0 #9 October 17, 2006 several things: 1)better running shoes - make a world of difference 2)various exercises - what you want to do is to stretch your toes back. a)sit onthe floor with your knees forward and your feet under your butt - toes pointed backwards. b) do a lot of toe extensions - stand flat on your feet and push up on your toes. c) try running on the balls of your feet d) when you run make a consious effort to push off with the balls of your feet and push back with your toes don't push things if you get shin splints - maybe hold off running for a few days and do stretching exercises instead. and believe me - good running shoes make a major difference - definately don't be running in tennis type or 'gym' shoes. have fun.......
