freeflir29 0 #3 October 25, 2006 Of course! I have had one for about 13 years now at least. I have it reviewed from time to time by an attorney to make sure it still covers everything.

kelel01 1 #5 October 25, 2006 Zach, you can have my pretty pink rig. Everything else goes to my parents so they can sell it to be able to afford to burn me. There - I have a will.

moodyskydiver 0 #11 October 25, 2006 I'm 24 and I'm currently taking care of these legalities. You're never too young to be proactive about your future and make your wishes legally known. Actually, I just took care of some of these legal paperwork decisions in the past few weeks.I have completed: A Medical Power of Attourney Texas Advanced Directive (also called a living will) Family Notification of Organ Donor Status paperwork Declaration of Mental Health Treatment I have yet to formally write up a Legal Power of Attourney,Executor of Estate, and Will.Although my family knows my wishes, I'll be taking care of that in the near future. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

Andy9o8 2 #15 October 26, 2006 Just to be clear: a will and a living will are two completely different things, despite the similarities in what they're called. A "will" is a "last will and testament", which names your executors, appoints your minor children's guardians, names your beneficiaries (the people who get your stuff) and disposes of your assets. It only takes effect upon your death, and has no power whatsoever while you're still alive. A "living will" is a colloquial term for an "advance heath care directive with medical power of attorney". "Living will" is really a misnomer, and I wish they were never called that, because it only causes confusion among non-lawyers. In any event, it directs when, and how, to "pull the plug" when you're comatose, etc. It only has effect while you're alive, and loses all power whatsoever at the moment of your death.
