Thanatos340 1 #2 October 26, 2006 I think certian threads such as Hollys High/Low Thread and a few of Shannons should always be around. Kind of like a part of them that lives on.

NWFlyer 2 #5 October 26, 2006 QuoteI think certian threads such as Hollys High/Low Thread and a few of Shannons should always be around. Kind of like a part of them that lives on. Yeah, but why only certain people's? I know Holly was special to a lot of people (though I didn't know her) and certainly Shannon was, but I'm betting that every dead person on here was special to at least one if not a lot of other posters. It's either okay for everyone or okay for no one; to make a distinction for certain people dishonors the memory of everyone else. Personally, I'm okay with it, and I've done it myself from time to time. I try not to get into constant, public mourning - that's just not my style, but the occasional bump doesn't bug me."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Slappie 9 #7 October 26, 2006 What's the life expectancy of a website? 20yrs? 30yrs? There is a point in time a website will die. We all will. Dead people's threads are information and contributions to the community given by them before their death. Do you think they don't want anyone to read them? Their dead they could careless... hell they can't care anymore anyways. They're DEAD! Most people in an online community post because they want others to read their thoughts. They want the attention too... Their posts and thoughts don't stop because their dead. What they had to say then still stands true now. When I die I want HH to place all my posts into a forum of it's own and I want you people to post derogatory remarks about me till the end of time or the end of the website. Which seriously what is the life expectancy of a website? freeflir29 0 #12 October 26, 2006 QuoteWho is HH? Is this poorly disguised sarcasm? Just in case it isn't........HH=Head Hancho=Sangiro=Guy who owns this site. The question at hand...........I think it's a nice way to remember people. Most of the time after somone dies all that is left is what OTHER people say about them. So it's all rosy and generally bullshit a lot of the time. This lets us see who they really were even if we didn't know them before.

chaoskitty 0 #14 October 26, 2006 Theres a guy who works in one of my radiology groups named Chris Martin. The first time I got an email from him at work I think I jumped out of my chair and clung to the ceiliing. I'm almost used to that guy by now.. haha. I think its okay to bring up those threads. Of course, its going to lean towards those who were popular on this site. Doesnt mean we dont miss everyone else. Although I will say that I did NOT like it when Bolas bumped a whole page of Shannon's threads the day after she died. His intentions were to memorialize her but it was upsetting to me because it was that much more real that she was gone. Maybe others liked it though.
