Tomorrow is a big day!

Recommended Posts

Good to know you're chill about it.

True story: in college, I decided to take the GRE even though I had no idea what (if anything) I'd do for grad school. Just figured I might as well take it since I was in the academic groove at the time.

The night before there was a huge party. I said "ah, I'll just go for a little while then come home." Uh, yeah. Not so much. I broke all the rules of standardized test taking. No sleep, hung over, no shower, running late, stressed out. I even forgot my #2 pencils!

Got a pretty good score anyway, but thought "I should try again." Next time, I stayed at home the night before, stayed sober, went to bed early, got up and was all relaxed.

Same score. :D

Enjoy the crepes. And you might as well get drunk, too. ;)

For me, it was the GMAT. I never got nervous before exams, but for some reason the GMAT freaked me out. I was sober...maybe that was my mistake...but I could not sleep a wink the night before. Then I was falling asleep on my test paper.

BTW, I always carried an extra #2 pencil for the hot chicks who forget theirs.;) I kept it right in my pocket protector.[:/]

I kicked ass on the GMAT. And the LSAT. There was actually a time when I was debating between business school and law school, so I jokingly said "Well, we'll see how I do on the tests - that will help me decide."

Same percentile score on both... yeah, that didn't help!

And thankfully, I am long out of the world of standardized tests.

I'm only really dreading the writing part. Timed creativity and ingenuity aren't really my forte. I feel like I've done a good job studying for the other components of the test.. but it just doesn't seem like you can really study much for the writing.

Now.. answer me this.. my test goes from 1-5 (prime sleepy time) and I have a morning class... should I skip the morning class (I won't really miss much that I can't make up easily) and relax all morning, possibly get in the groove with a little multiple choice practice around lunch time.. or go to school, kill time on campus and then go take the test?

What I am looking for is a response from someone whom I respect telling me to skip class.

Now go ahead Krisanne..:P

I'm always prepared with my pencils, but I don't have a pocket protector. I just stick them into my ponytail at all angles. That's right.. I'm that cool.:P

Aww, but if I tell you to skip class will you still respect me in the morning? ;);)

I am probably the worst person to give advice on this because I am some kind of freakish anomaly. I most likely skipped more classes in college than I attended, had a fairly abysmal GPA (at least it showed a strong upward trend ... but considering my first semester GPA there was nowhere to go but up) and I still managed to get into a really good grad school (without bribery!).

So, take my advice to go right ahead and skip class like you would the guy who says "I was swooping a Velo loaded at 1.6 when I had 100 jumps and I didn't get hurt so I'm sure you'll be fine." ;)

Well.. it's done.

I'm not real happy with my scores, I got a 1250.. it could be worse.

I really dislike the way that they give the test now. It's a real mind-fuck.

The verbal section is what killed me! Damn those analogies!

From a previous post "I'd like 1300, but I'd be happy with 1200" so you got the mid point of the two, WAH WAH WAH:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

If you're not happy, take it again. But that sounds like a pretty good score, my friend. Glad you survived!
