You know the day holds promise when you get an IM from someone who lives in your building and it says "Dude - look out the window - is that a parachute?"

Some company called AirPhoto - What the hell? Anyone ever heard of it? Web says they take balloons up and take photos. But the balloon was tethered - I saw the tether heading to a building down below... Odd.

much better than a "free" balloon if you want to :
-control what you want to photograph
-retrieve your expensive photo equipment

I did it with kites already, never with a balloon.

you can see the tether in the first pic. i wonder what they do on a windless day. kinda interesting, but what is their market?

-certainly a much cheaper way to do aerial photo than via kite
-certainly the most viable aerial photo system for city pictures.
