RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 October 31, 2006 Thanks to Shropshire for expressing this phobia, so I'm curious how many other .commers share the same fear? Do you have trypanophobia? ...a fear of needles? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trypanophobia _________________________________________

ExAFO 0 #3 October 31, 2006 Al Capone had this phobia. He refused to get the shot that would have cured his syphallis, which eventually rotted his brain and did what hundreds of gangsters couldn't do: kill him.Illinois needs a CCW Law. NOW.

skymama 37 #6 October 31, 2006 Nah, I had 6 years of allergy shots as a kid. That pretty much cured me of being afraid of needles. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
moodyskydiver 0 #7 October 31, 2006 4 tats and 3 body piercings...no, I'd say needles arents a problem for me.Plus I get blood drawn monthly for medical labwork.I'll sit there and watch the whole thing w/o a problem: tats, piercings, lab draws everything.I guess you can say I'm either masochistic or just really curious. littleskycrab 0 #13 October 31, 2006 I'm not afraid of the tattoo needle, however, I hate ALL other needles. I've had HUNDREDS (migrains, cancer & allergies) of shots in the past 6+ yrs and they still scare the absolute begeezus outta me. Don't like 'em, cry like a little baby everytime. To me, needles mean that there is something very very wrong.Next time a sunrise steals your breath or a meadow of flowers leaves you speechless, remain that way. Say nothing and listen as heaven whispers, "Do you like it? I did it just for you."
PLFXpert 0 #14 October 31, 2006 Not at all. When I donate, blood, though I don't like to look at the blood coming out of me. I don't mind it at all seeing it sucked out of someone else. But watching it ooze out of me activates some sort of survival mode in me and it gives me the heebie jeebies.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. RkyMtnHigh 0 #15 November 1, 2006 The statistics here are showing approx 25% of skydivers replying to this poll are trypanophobic whereas studies show 10% of the total population....Interesting. _________________________________________
d_squared431 0 #16 November 1, 2006 No they don't bother me. I stick people all day with them too and have never had a problem. I even tell the patient that they don't hurt either and that is right before I stick them in the butt with one...TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly
