packing a spectre 135

Recommended Posts

did a search and didn't really find anything specific.
I did a demo for one of these from PD while I was in florida... I liked it so much I bought one when I downsized.
What kind of a pack job do these spectres get? I've been told a PD pack job is a PD pack job (except for those sabres which is what I'm currently jumping)I've kind of started working on my riggers ticket and I'm trying to learn how to pack faster/slower openings etc. So I was just wondering if anyone had some stuff I could try out.
These snivel alot so I would imagine that I wouldn't want to roll the nose or anything. I'm thinking maybe it's more like a velocity pack job where you leave the center cell open and the slider even with that.
Any comments would be appreciated.

I jumped a spectre 135 for a few years. I never did anything special to it, just flake, flake c/d lines too, leave everything hanging, quarter slider, roll top of tail enough to keep the packjob together, jump!

Don't roll the tail too much if you want it to open anytime soon, don't push the tail into the nose or anything. Just a basic pro-pack. I must say it opened good no matter what I did to it, trash-packed a few packjobs no problem. Just too much rolling of the tail will make it open way too slow.

Hey,

I have jumped a Spectre 135 for the last 30 or so jumps. Not once have I done anything special. I used to stuff the nose in a bit when I pulled the tail around and that causes it to snivel to about 800ft or slightly more. All I do now is quarter the slider and pull the tail around with the cells still in between my knees. I release, roll the tail a bit to close it up and that's it. I get very consistent 600-800 ft openings. 90% on heading, the other 10% percent I attribute to packer interface error (IE: "ME"). I have never gotten more than a 90 degree off heading opening. It stays on heading for the whole snivel, but when the slider comes down is when it will tend to do a 90 degree turn the the right as it gets that final full inflation. It's either packing or body position.

Either way, I loves ma Spectre! Hope you enjoy it too!
