LisaM 0 #1 November 7, 2006 This post is about a meowing kitty. Don't give me a hard time cause I have a no kitties in the bedrooms with sleeping people rule. I have always ignored her. Have a fan set up in my son's room and our room to drown her out. But she's been with us about a month naw and it is getting worse. Saturday night she started clawing at the door. I started the ol' squirt bottle routine. Last night was night #2 and she instead sat just in ear shot range but meowing quieter. She was far enough away I did not see her to squirt her. Anyone else deal with this? Suggestions? ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
skymama 37 #2 November 7, 2006 Grab a throw pillow, open the door real fast a scream like a wild woman while throwing the pillow in the direction of the cat (but don't hit it). You might have to do it a few times, but they usually catch on.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

mailin 0 #7 November 7, 2006 Hey Lisa, If the cat is a kitten its usually because they don't know your routine yet and get bored easily when no one is around. Make sure her food and water bowls are full, litter box is clean and see if that works for a few days. If that doesn't work I would move the above mentioned objects to the basement and lock her down there at night for a few weeks - eventually she'll get used to night time is quiet time. I've had to do this with cats before and its worked out fine. Good luck, JenArianna Frances

We had that untill the first night when my mum was making a big song and dance about "no kittens in the bedroom"...2 inutes later she has caved and the kitten was on my bed (note...not thiers). I dont mind as he is a great alarm clock for me although he had a habbit of bringing e presents of mice in the morning. Usually someone can catch him running through the kitchen with it but recently he has become sneakier by coming in through the bathroom window as to avoid detection.... ------ Two of the three voices in my head agree with you. jumpchikk 0 #11 November 7, 2006 How many cats do you have? I have two and they are content with keeping themselves occupied during the night, they normally don't come scratch on my door until it's time for me to get up.

StreetScooby 5 #15 November 7, 2006 What's wrong with letting the cap sleep on your bed? A happy kitty is better than an unhappy kitty. We are all engines of karma
NewGuy2005 53 #16 November 7, 2006 Mine does it sometimes. I lock her in the garage. Letting her sleep on the bed seems to help.
