ExAFO 0 #1 November 6, 2006 Anyone else's cat stand on the edge of the tub while one showers, with a wide-eyed look of sheer terror on their face, somberly mewing, with an interrogative tone?? It's funny.Illinois needs a CCW Law. NOW.
AggieDave 6 #2 November 6, 2006 Its even funnier when they accidently fall in. Well, its really funny if your flesh isn't near the cat at the time, or you're gonna bleed. For some reason The Dude (his dudeness, el duderino if you're not into the entire berevity thing) like to go into the shower after the waters off and play with the small puddles of water.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Michele 1 #3 November 6, 2006 QuoteAnyone else's cat stand on the edge of the tub while one showers, with a wide-eyed look of sheer terror on their face, somberly mewing, with an interrogative tone?? It's funny. Absolutely. I remember once, when Simon was a wee kitten (perhaps 2 months old? Thereabouts...) I took a bath. He was trying his best to jump onto the lip of the tub, crying plaintively. He could just about get his head over the edge, but there was nothing for him to grab onto, so he'd slide off. I took pity on him after he did this for a few minutes, and lifted him up onto the lip. He then proceeded to crawl onto my chest, and once he realized there was water in the tub, he crawled onto my head. I took him off my head, and put him back on the lip. He crawled back onto my head, and yelled at the water. We did this a few times, and then I just got a towel, put it on the edge of the tub where it met the wall in back (you know, where that space is), and he settled onto that rather than my head. He stayed there the whole bath, and only left when I got out. He still comes and investigates what I'm doing, although he doesn't crawl on my head anymore. He bats at the bubbles if I'm taking a bubble bath, though... The rest of the herd seems interested in what I do in there...they all come in, taking turns because it's a small room, and just checks out the weird thing I'm doing. Three of them like to lick the warm water off my legs when I get out of the shower, too. That tickles, and loufa's me at the same time. Cats are cool. kbordson 8 #4 November 6, 2006 My male cat used to get in the tub with me. It was SO amusing to watch him. He was very cautious about it. He would get all four legs up on the ledge, leaning in at a precarious angle.... Then slowly and deliberately he would submerge one paw up to the body.... then joining that paw with the other front paw... taking a full minute to reach the bottom. Then he would step forward and slowly place his back paws... then he would tiptoe around... as if he wasn't in water. If he was ever splashed... that was a mess!!! But... he'd slowly get back in again... I miss him.
matt1215 0 #5 November 6, 2006 Shadow likes to lay on the bathroom rug when I take a shower, and loofas my legs/feet too. She knows better than to get too close to the shower while I'm in it. Last week, she watched Abby walk right past her, peek around the shower curtain, then get pulled into the shower for a bath. Finding Shadow was a bit tricky, she knew she was next . jumpchikk 0 #6 November 6, 2006 My cat, Simba, will get in the bathtub with me. I got him acclamated to water when he was a kitten. My cat, Jake, is totally different, he stands on the tub ledge with the wide-eyed fear.

Dumpster 0 #9 November 6, 2006 My cats just pee in the shower if I let the litterbox go to long between cleanings. Easy Does It
mrGuy 0 #10 November 6, 2006 My female cat walks in the shower when the water is pointed away, but freaks out if she gets wet. I can't figure out why she does it when she knows it'll hit her like always. cats are so weird.
tigra 0 #11 November 8, 2006 Mine do that, sometimes to play and sometimes just to drink the "fresh" water. And they'll get between the curtain and the liner while I'm showering- but not scared or anything. Sometimes they even get in- towards the back where the water isn't coming directly down on them. The littlest one doesn't even mind getting wet.
