AggieDave 6 #2 November 7, 2006 Easy fix. Its basically a watch battery that goes on your motherboard.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Mikhail 0 #4 November 7, 2006 Open it up and you'll see a shiny flat (3V, IIRC) battery somewhere on the motherboard. That's the battery you need to change. You can get it at any place that sells batteries. If you don't change it, your computer will start forgetting the clock and BIOS settings when you turn it off. No...dont turn it off and change it while its on. That way you dont need to reset the clock :D ------ Two of the three voices in my head agree with you. Cornholio 0 #9 November 8, 2006 dude, if you are getting this message, it means one thing and one thing only... Time to upgrade and buy a new computer! I don't think I've owned any computer long enough to see that message. I usually upgrade my motherboard/cpu about every 18 months - which is considered a long time by most geeks people. Hmm lets see, i'm effectively running the lastest software I need, and i have 512 broadband connection which works well and is sufficient for my download needs. Spend $5 on a battery, or Blow 30-40 Jump tickets for an new computer. Let me think about that and I'll get back to youYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? Failure to follow this simple step may ensure you will treat yourself to a new PC. QuoteFind the quarter shaped battery on the mother board.
