mrGuy 0 #1 November 8, 2006 This is almost as frustrating as a stupid driver in my path on the way to work. It makes me want to hunt them down and stuff little porceline collectables down thier throats. Item listed for 4 more days- no reserve, and I fucking want it CHEAP: Stupid Bidder: "I better get on this! hmmm...I'll put in a bid of thirty dollars, that'll hold it nice" smiles to himself, cause he's a smartypants! Stupid bidder number two: "OH no!! someone else put in a bid! I better top it." 3 days left: Item now at $150.00 because of these fucking asshole morons: At this point I just want them to die cause they can't be this stupid. Item now is beyond caring about. Sells at an inflated price of 1000 percent.

pincheck 0 #3 November 8, 2006 the one that gets me is when you get 2 or more stupid bidders who not only bid early but force the price up to where you might as well go buy new because they have no idea of the value of the item they are bidiing on Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
TheBile 0 #4 November 8, 2006 Almost as annoying as people putting most of the value of the item in the Postage section so they don't have to pay the EBay fees. Almost as annoying as snipers, who are now armed with sniping software so they can snipe without having to actually be there. Almost as annoying as EBay becoming so popular now that an individual, specific item (CD, PC Game, DVD etc) is sold by so many people that you have to list it several times, paying several fees just to get someone to buy it, even then barely covering the cost of you putting it on in the first place. I say Ebay will pay in a big way one day, OK !Gerb I stir feelings in others they themselves don't understand. KA'CHOW !
FlyingJ 0 #5 November 8, 2006 Ah yes, very annoying if you are a bidder, but as a seller it is a dream come true! The first thing I ever sold on eBay was a 3 year old Palm Pilot that some moron bought for more than you could buy a brand new one for in the store. Miami 0 #7 November 8, 2006 When I'm buying something I feel the same way, but when I'm selling something I love it! I won't bid on anything that has more than about 20 seconds left on it...if some idiot didn't bid what they were willing to pay because they don't understand proxy bidding then it's their own damn fault.Miami

wmw999 2,588 #9 November 8, 2006 Yes. On the occasions when I see something I want on Ebay, and it's not really, really new, I'll decide what I think is a fair price and put that up. Because, well, I don't want to spend my time looking at it up until the last minute. So far, I've been happy with everything I've bought off ebay. I'm sure there are times I could have gotten them cheaper, but, well, that's OK. I don't buy Starbucks coffee, so I can afford to spend more for stuff I want Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. Bobbi Ummm I work for EBAY part time and what you have just done is illegal on our site and you can and will be punished severely. We at ebay take this kind of offense seriously. If I were you I'd just cancel my account right now. That usually will get you out of it. ok so none of that is true. Shame on you. Bobbi Haha, I have two accounts and will drive the bid up on whatever I'm selling using the second one if the time is running out and it's not selling (rare)... or if it's going to sell for less than I want... it's funny though.. ppl won't bid but as soon as they see there is a bid on something, they suddenly want it.. mrGuy 0 #13 November 8, 2006 Yeah, I know I'm not alone on this, and that if you're SELLING, its great to have stupid people helping you out. lol But here is the deal, PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW IT WORKS! : -Don't BID until the end. If you're not going to be at a computer when it ends, then just DON'T Bid...unless it's something that isn't going to get any attention anyway. -Wait till the end and SNIPE. Thats when you have your bidding page loaded and ready to go, and at the very last moment when you know that nobody else can reach your price in time, you send it. I have no idea why this seems so wrong to some people..it's how it's done! jeez... -Never put in a bid days in advance! And if someone out bids you, don't go and put in fifty more bids just to get past them...they'll just come in and top you again, driving up the price more and more and more....this is borderline retarded behavior. No...let me take that back...this IS retarded behavior. Yeah, I'm sort of pissed off about this, can you tell?

DrewEckhardt 0 #15 November 9, 2006 I figure out what I'm willing to pay from completed auctions, use E-snipe bidgroups (it won't bid after it gets a win) with that amount plus a small random adjustment, and have the bids scheduled with a six second buffer. Two reasons: 1. It helps keep the price down by not drawing additional attention to an item. 2. My money is only committed to an item I may or may not win for just a few seconds. Early bidding is STUPID. I can't explain it to you, since it's one of those obvious, life experience things like figuring out how a TV remote works...or cooking a hotdog...if you don't get it, you're not gonna get it.
