grue 1 #1 November 13, 2006 I know there used to be, but I'm not sure if they're still around? I've got a lengthy layover on my way to Australia, and it'd be easier to leave my luggage securely and leave the airport for a few hours than it would be to take it with me and have to dick with security going through it again.cavete terrae. NWFlyer 2 #2 November 13, 2006 I don't think so. I think lockers at airports pretty much went away with 9/11. Besides, given LAX's layout, if you leave from a different terminal that you arrived on you'll have to go through security again."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. If they don't think the lockers are secure enough, they're obviously saying their security checks are inadequate, since the lockers were IN THE SECURE AREA. So what it comes down to is that I get to carry my rig and travel bag around LA while I hang out with a few friends, and show up 2 hours before the flight so I can clear security, instead of showing up 45 minutes before without bags. The FAA/TSA have their heads so far up their asses they can see their esophagus.cavete terrae.
airtwardo 7 #4 November 13, 2006 No, not anymore... But what you 'can' do is leave it at a close hotel with a few bucks for the concierge, tell him you are not 'sure' if you are staying or not...I've done that in various cities. OR some friendly .commer might help! When you going to be there? NWFlyer 2 #8 November 13, 2006 How long will you be in LA? Enough time to let a fan buy you a drink?"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. With no bags, clearing security is fast as hell. Carrying a rig? I assume the worst. Oh well, I reckon I'll figure something out... as for when, it'll be 30 November.cavete terrae. airtwardo 7 #10 November 13, 2006 QuoteHow long will you be in LA? Enough time to let a fan buy you a drink? At least a day....maybe two, actually trying to put it off until later in the week so I can make it a LONG weekend and get a load or two in with SD-Slider. I'll know for sure tomorrow afternoon. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
NWFlyer 2 #11 November 13, 2006 Keep me posted especially if you've got any free time in the evenings. I'll be there late tomorrow night through Friday afternoon."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. bob.dino 1 #12 November 13, 2006 There are no LAX-operated lockers or oversize item storage facilities anymore. You should be able to look up baggage services here, but the form is broken. edit: http://www.laxluggagestorage.com/

SkydiveStMarys 0 #14 November 13, 2006 When I flew back home from Philly they took my mascara. One, because it wasn't in a clear plastic baggy and 2, they considered it a fluid. I told them to take the lid off and tip it over to see it anything came out. I was pissed....just ain't right I tell ya! They maybe right though....if you mix my mascara with my "plumping" lip gloss, which they took too, you would really be in a heap of trouble at 40,000 ft!!A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.
