Telemarketers...

Recommended Posts

Depends. If it's your cell phone company, they would probably fall under the exception. The do not call list doesn't apply to 1) companies you do business with 2) political campaigns and 3) charitable organizations. I would expect the same would apply to text messaging but who knows.

I'm with Nextel and I got 4 over the weekend. It pissed me off too because I never use the text messaging feature and I'm on the do not call list too! >:(

I know, I keep getting text msgs from Cingular. I've "unsubscribed" according to the directions in the msg, but I still get them. Its freak'n annoying. Atleast since I work nights I don't typically get any while I'm at work.

...and, if you don't have text messaging as part of your monthly plan, the telemarketers are costing you extra charges.

I'm with TMobile, and I've gotten maybe 4 or 5 over the 2+ years I've been with them.

Freakiest one was sitting a few cars back at the border crossing to go into British Columbia. My phone dinged and I looked down and there was a text message that said "Welcome to Canada!" Wigged me out for a second till I realized that I had just switched over to the Canadian carrier's system and it was a welcome message from them.

After getting 2 more last night that woke me up, I finally called Nextel. They put a block on my phone for spammers, so maybe that will work for you too.
